Cream Cheese Pie

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2006
I made this over a week ago and it was D-lish! For a while now I've been craving one of Marie Calendars Sour Cream Cheese pies, but lately they've always been out of stock. I finally got sick of waiting and set out on a mission to find one and, like magic, here this recipe was. My family absolutely loved it and I got my cream cheese pie fix. The only difference I made was to serve it totally chilled. And as a personal note to other cooks, don't cheap out on the pie crust like I did! You'll be happier in the end.

Sweet Orange Chicken II

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2006
This was really tasty. I used boneless chicken breasts and browned them for a few minutes on each side in crushed garlic and butter. I simmered the sauce in a separate large pan and threw in some chopped green onions, red pepper flakes, orange zest, cornstach for thickness, and omitted the cranberries. Then I put the browned chicken in with the sauce and cooked it till it was no longer pink inside. Then I sliced the breast up and served in on a bed of rice, topped with a little extra sauce. It was really REALLY good. The leftovers tasted even better because the orange flavor soaked through the meat.

Honey Ribs

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2006
This was a pretty easy recipe. I really enjoyed making it. I didn't do anything different except I put more water in the pot which was a no-no. I think if I added more beef broth instead of water to cover the ribs they would have come out better. But like I said, that was my own fault. Overall this is a great recipe! I'll make it again.

Grandma's Salad Dressing

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2006
Very good! I decided to make this at the spur of the moment to go with dinner tonight. I was happy to know that I already had all of the ingredients right in my cabinet. I was impressed with the flavor. The only change I made was to use 1/2 a cup of oil and 1/2 an onion instead. I will be making this again in the future.

Honeyed Pork Chops

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2006
Very delicious! I just made these for dinner tonight. I did as other reviewers suggested and added more honey to the sauce. I went an extra mile and marinated the chops for three hours in honey, garlic salt, and manderain juice. Cooked it covered half the time, flipped them, and then uncovered it for the final ten to fifteen minutes of baking. The frying part in the recipe DOES help so DO NOT SKIP that part. I served the chops with garlic red potatoes and salad with homemade dressing. Fantastic!!!

Three Pepper Pilaf

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2006
I used this recipe a few days ago and it was magnificent! It turned just like the picture. I used powdered Chicken Flavored Bouillon instead of the cubes and it still came out good. It goes very well with chicken. I will make it again soon.

Caramelized Red Bell Peppers and Onions

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2006
I liked this recipe alot. The red wine gives it a nice little kick. I accidently bought a yellow onion but it still came out just as good. The whole house was fuming with the sweet scent of the bell peppers. I threw in yellow bell peppers as well for more color. I'm definitely going to make this again.

Beer Battered Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2006
I've only made this dish once and I followed instructions exactly the way it was posted. After spending so much time and trouble cooking it, I was not happy with the end result. It was no better than regular breaded chicken. I suggest to anyone who is planning on using this recipe to either marinate the chicken in herbs and adding spices to the batter. Otherwise you'll just end up as disappointed as I was.

Onion Rice

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2006
I had to make an extra side dish on the double last night and I found this one to be quick and easy. It tastes alot better than just plain old rice and went well with the steaks I made.
