Beef Stroganoff III

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2005
Great Recipe! I did add garlic, fresh mushrooms and marinated the meat for an hour in Emeril's Roasted Vegatable Marinade. Also followed other reviewers and added some cream cheese and used white onions instead. Whole family loved it! Thanks!

Delicious Black Bean Burritos

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2004
Really good burritos! I added rice and a can of corn, extra cilantro (what's a mexican dish without 'lots of cilantro), red onion and extra garlic.....which made them better fit our family! Thanks for the recipe, we'll be having them often!!!

Baker's Clay

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2004
Where we live there aren't any craft stores easily accessible so this worked well when my son came home and needed to create a visual book report in two days (kids!)...anyway, I made this and colored with food coloring. When the kids were done making their art, we put it by the woodstove instead of baking. It got a little "puffy" but just enhanced the look! Make extra and seal in a zip lock bag, great for a rainy day!

American Shepherd's Pie

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2004
This is a great recipe....I changed it a bit and thought it turned out fabulous!!! We added fresh thyme and fresh basil, extra chopped garlic, chopped red pepper that I had in the freezer and of course 4 cups of mashed potatoes with sour cream added to them...they were a huge hit with my hubby and kids! We sent an extra pan over to some friends in need and they said it was great too! Thanks for the recipe!

Blackberry Pie I

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2003
This is a great recipe! We just moved to Orcas Island in the San Juans this summer and I wasn't sure what to do with all the blackberries my kids kept bringing home....so we ate a lot of pies! They also went to the school bake sale and were a hit, even though people have been making Blackberry Pie forever here! Thanks, I felt like an "Islander"!!!

Satiny Chocolate Glaze

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2003
This was really good! I used it on a cake that was already sweet so it was a little too much. The glaze is fantastic but make sure you don't add it to something already really rich! Thanks a bunch though! I know I'll use it again!

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

These cookies are outstanding! I made them for a bake sale at my children's school and they were a HUGE hit. They are soft and rich and just one is good for a sweet tooth "fix" for most tastes.

Frijoles I

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2003
I had an extra bag of beans so I made this. These are really good! Although I don't agree with the author, it didn't seem like much work to me. The only thing I did different was added more garlic and froze the ones we weren't eating that night. Last night we were having tacos so I added the beans to the taco meat and it was fantastic! Very budget minded, just what I need with 3 kids~~~~Thanks!

Szechuan Beef

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2002
This was really good!!! I mad a few changes though. Instead of the Soy Sauce, I used 1/2 cup of Yoshida's Original and then didn't have to use the corn starch, it's already thicker. Let it marinade for about an hour, and used mixed oriental veggies. My husband and I love spicy but the kids like it just "tasty", this was good! We added more chili peppers and it was great for us! (Of course we also added more garlic, love that too!) We had it over rice, good quick meal!

Spiced Pumpkin Seeds

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2002
Thank you for this recipe! I have tried to make pumpkin seeds twice, both times we didn't care for them. My daughter wanted to take pumpkin seeds to her Halloween party at school so I reluctantly looked up this recipe. I put all the ingredients in a bowl bowl (had a bag of candy on reserve) and let it sit for about an hour. I Baked them for longer then it called for (we wanted them crunchy). We all loved them! She took 25 sandwich bags to school and said everyone LOVED them. If 25 4th graders like them, it's a keeper in my book!!! I'm actually going to buy a pumpkin today (Nove. 1st) if I can find one, so my husband has a snack...he felt left out.
