Greek Style Potatoes

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2007
This is bad. I could eat way too many of these!! SOOO good!! Ok. Here's one suggestion for the reviewer further down that thought the herbs were just too over powering- try switching to just oregano- and you'll still have an authentic greek potato dish!!

Candied Salmon

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2007
This was good. I likes the sweet tang to it, but I will try brown sugar instead of white next time. My husband doesn't like salmon, and was really disappointed when I told him that was for supper(I buy salmon for me and the girls-NOT for him) but since I'm out of groceries and this was all I had, I looked here for a really good salmon recipe. This one worked, he ate the fish, and said it was really good, "where did you get that recipe?". Here's a tip: Let the salmon sit in the sauce for at least 10 minutes before you serve it- it soaks it up and makes it moist- the fillets I took out and plated right as soon as it came out of the oven were kinda dry, but the ones that I was putting away after supper were super moist and flavorful. Thanks for making my husbands salmon dinner a pleasant experience!!

Fish Sinigang (Tilapia) - Filipino Sour Broth Dish

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2007
SUPER!!! I love this soup! My Philipino friend has a similar recipe- she adds sliced potatoes and brown rice-cooked. This IS comfort food. My husband is Lebanese and he loves this soup. We make it just about once a week. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! Good Job!!

Mmm-Mmm Better Brownies

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2007
Mmmm!! Yes, these are the best brownies ever! I followed the recipe to a "t". I don;t understand why people change up the recipe and then blame the recipe contributor for the problems they end up with. These did make a very small pan, maybe enough for two hungry brownie lovers. I usually just stick to my favorite box from the grocery store that I discovered, but I do prefer these one more. I will be making them in the future. Thank-you for a great recipe!!

Perfect Sushi Rice

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2007
This is really good!! I always use this rice recipe in my sushi rolls, and everyone raves about them I HIGHLY recommend this recipe if you are making sushi! (I just bought short-grain rice from my grocery store- they didn't have sushi rice, but I think it is pretty much the same thing. It worked out perfect for me.)

Gramma Bertha's Banana Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2007
YUMMMMY!!! This is a really good cake. I like it better than my banana bread...my husband is loving it right now. I cooked mine for 45 minutes, as the toothpick came out clean then when I poked it, and I used a real bundt pan. the picture looks like you used something else. hence maybe the longer cooking time?

Toum

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2006
MMMmmm! This IS a classic Lebanese dip- We eat it with oven roasted chicken, dipping the pieces in it. I aslo make mine in the food processor and add mayonnaise instead of veg. oil. Its very addictive, and you will eat alot of it. Its garlic, but it sooo good- its worth the risk. Hint: chew fresh parsley after- it will kill bad breath

Easy Eggplant Pita

Reviewed: May 24, 2006
Not as great as I thought it would be...but the next day I added breaded chicken fillets (chicken fingers), and that really made all the difference. On its own, I wouldn't give it that high of a rating. I have a much yummier recipe made with eggplant and roasted red peppers and flattened breaded chicken that I will try to post soon.

Basboosa II

I love it. It is sweet, and everyone loves it. With the addition of about a teaspoon of Rose Water to either the syrup or the dessert itself, it is authentically Middle Eastern, and makes me dream of Lebanon when I eat it!

Mary's Roasted Red Pepper Dip

I reallt enjoyed this dip, but I noticed some people thought it needed Something. May i suggest grated Parmesan cheese? It always adds a flavourful depth tha t usually does the trick.
