Kale Chips with Honey

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2010
never liked kale until now! My friend advised me to set temperature in dehydrator to 130 and let it go about an hour longer. Awesome!

Italian Zucchini Boats

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2007
Really good! I did as others suggested and sauteed onions, garlic and then zucchini pulp in evoo. I also added some leftover gound turkey, about 1/2 cup. Then used a little crushed stuffing mix so I could cut back on powdery dry breadcrumbs. Even if I didn't have the ground turkey, I would definately make again. Thanks!

Frizzled Onions

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2009
these were really good on burgers. You must take them out as soon as they are golden brown or they will have a burnt taste. Definately spread them out a bit on paper towels to drain and crisp up.

Garlicky Appetizer Shrimp Scampi

Reviewed: May 17, 2009
Very good recipe. Used 6 cloves of garlic. Also chopped up a small tomato that I had hanging around and threw it in when the shrimp was almost done. Will definately make again. Thanks.

Alabama Fire Crackers

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2010
I wasn't too sure about this one, but tried it anyway -and was glad I did! They are really good. I just wish they made a low salt ranch mix. next time I will try a little less oil and 1 1/2 packets of ranch instead of two. They go great with a cold beer ;) Give them a try.

Shrimp Scampi and Tomato Broil

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2009
Really good! Added 2 tbsp of butter before adding wine, a pinch of cayenne and freshly ground salt & pepper. When it was done, I added some fresh mozzarella and put it back into the broiler to melt a little. I had a bag of fresh spinach so served the shrimp over that. It was delicious! Even my 7 yr old loved it. Thanks, will certainly make it again.

I have tried several times to make these and they are not really crispy enough to pick up. Maybe this is the way thay are supposed to be and I just don't like them??

Roast Potatoes

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2010
This was a good recipe. All ovens vary and some use convection so basically, just check them for your preferecnce. Not so hard to figure out. I also disagree with people who used extra virgin olive oil (evoo) since it's smoke point is somewhere around 400. Any kind of vegetable oil really does work best. Lastly, I did add more rosemary and a sprinkle of basil only because we love them. Thanks for a good basic, simple fail proof recipe. =)

Orzo Shrimp Stew

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2010
Really good. I used chopped sun dried tomatoes instead of canned tomatoes. I had to add more chicken broth for the orzo to be soft enough. I did change the order of things too. I sautéed the shrimp and then set aside keeping it warm, then put broth, garlic and basil in the pan and brought to a boil, then added the orzo and cooked it almost half way, then added the broccoli and tomatoes ( I don't like mushy broccoli. ) When then the broccoli was done to my liking, I added the shrimp. I did not add the butter at all, which made it WW friendly! I will definitely make this again!

Marinated Scallops Wrapped in Bacon

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2010
These were a nice change, but a little too sweet for us even after adding a little smoked chipotle powder and a little cayenne. I may try them again using less maple syrup.

Pasta Primavera

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2008
This was ok. It did really have a 'packaged' taste even after adding extra parmesan and a little cream cheese. The kids ate it and it was quick but not sure if I'd make it again. But glad I tried it.

Can't go wrong. Basic, easy recipe. I did add 8 cloves of garlic and 2 bottles of beer (for 5 lbs of meat). Thanks for keeping this so simple. Less is more sometimes.

Rosemary Zucchini Sticks

These were great! My husband and boys liked them too. I used non stick foil and sprayed them with pam before baking. For a dipping sauce I used light mayo, dijon mustard, black pepper and a little honey. Thanks for the recipe :)

Golden Potato Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2011
this was a really good start for a first time potato soup maker. I used an immersion blender to thicken it a bit rather than all the cheese. I did add some of the cheese, about half towards the end, added some garlic and parsley flakes. Didnt use any meat in the soup, only used crumbled cooked bacon on top when serving. Thank you for the very easy recipe, my family LOVED it! Just a note, I made bread bowls from pillsbury french loaf and served in those.

Slow Cooker Italian Beef for Sandwiches

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2010
used beef broth and added two packets of dressing and omitted any extra salt. Also used fresh garlic. like others have said, it was awesome on toasted rolls with provolone. Cooked in crock pot about 5 hours on high for 4 lb meat. just keep checking it towards the end to see how easy it shreds.

this is a great recipe, makes a beautiful light dinner. You can use whatever vegatables or meat you have. I dont add melted butter, just use a little to saute the veggies first. I will definately make it again and again. Thanks

This was pretty good, kids loved it. I cooked the rice in the microwave to same time. Added some cumin and chili powder. Next time, I will split it into two pans, one original for the kids and the other with lots of jalapenos and black beans for my husband and I. Thank you!

Easy Skillet Ravioli

Quick and easy with minimal clean up. I happened to have fresh spinach so I added that in also. I agree with another user that any sauce will do. Added fresh parmesan at the end.

Really good for both muffins and a loaf. I used chopped craisins instead of walnuts since my kids dont like nuts. I also used more banana only because I had a few hanging around. Will definately make again. Thanks
