I made these without reading prior reviews (perhaps a mistake) and, although we thought the flavor was great, they consistency didn't work at all. I followed the recipe exactly as written and they fell completely apart in the oil, turning into a sludge in the bottom of the oil. We baked the remaining balls and enjoyed the yummy flavor without the fried crunch you would expect from falafel. Perhaps an egg would solve the problem? I might try again because the flavor was so good, but as written I can't see how the recipe can deserve five stars.
