Stovetop "Baked" Beans

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2011
I've never made baked beans before, usually I just open a can and heat them up, but I think from now on I'll be using this recipe instead! Very delicious!!! I brought this to a potluck and everyone enjoyed it. I only gave 4 stars because I didn't follow the recipe exactly. I used maple baked beans instead of pork and beans.

Chicken Tortilla Soup V

So good! Do NOT forget the lemon juice. I used a rotisserie chicken because it was faster for a weeknight meal. Delicious!

Apple Butter Anniversary Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2010
If you don't thaw the whipped topping, it doesn't allow it to get fluffy. It's a runny mess. Next time, I will use THAWED whipped topping for the icing. As is it's a drippy, sloppy mess. It tastes wonderful, but it's for my daughter birthday and i don't even want the thing in any pictures! So five starts for flavor, three stars for directions and appearance. And yes, double the filling!

Caramel Corn IV

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2010
Double the caramel sauce! Other than that, amazing stuff! I think that the flavor will depend a lot on the type of corn syrup you use. If you use dark you'll get more of a cracker Jack type caramel. I like to use half light and half dark (discovered that by accident one day when I ran out of light) but either way it's really wonderful.

Beef Stroganoff III

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2010
Very tasty! HOWEVER.....you can make the exact same think with about 1/10th the effort by putting a roast in the crackpot with a large can of cream of mushroom soup and a packet of dry onion soup mix. Cook on low 8 hours or so, add in a can of mushroom and some sour cream. I promise you that the flavor is exactly the same.

Followed directions exactly and still ended up with mushy fudge. The flavor is fantastic, but it's very very soft.

not quite peanut buttery enough for me. Very good consistency and texture though. Maybe a touch too sweet.

Mondi's Super Simple Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2009
Pretty darn good! I used this recipe today to prepare the chicken that will go into some chicken pot pies that I'm making. I too added a little lemon juice to the pan. I also softened the butter and mixed the spices in before spreading on the chicken. It turned out delicious and I know that it's going to add some GREAT flavor to my chicken pot pies.

Unbelievably Yummy Chicken Casserole

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2009
I did not care for this recipe. And it took waaaay longer to bake than it said. Thankfully, that meant that my family was starving enough when it came out of the oven to actually eat it. I won't ever make this again!

Best Tuna Melt (New Jersey Diner Style)

One MAJOR PROBLEM with this recipe.....it doesn't make enough!!!! It was fantastic!!!! Delicious! Can't wait to make it again! It was so easy, and the presentation is nice so I'll be making it for lunch when my parents come to visit next weekend.

Roasted Potatoes with Greens

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2009
Waaay too much butter in my opinion. The potatoes ended up greasy. It's much better to toss them in olive oil, better flavor than the butter. The fresh rosemary and garlic made the house smell wonderful, but the taste didn't live up to it.

Elizabeth's Extreme Chocolate Lover's Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2009
WOW!!! So much better than a mix and canned icing. The chocolate flavor is to die for. Sweet, but not too sweet. Very rich! This recipe easily makes TWICE the icing that you need for a two layer cake. Next time I plan to make four layers, but I think that it's still too much. Leave our the egg yolk, and don't bother beating the butter for 10 minutes. The icing recipe is unneccesarily difficult. You can really dump everything together and mix it that way. Either way, very very very yummy. I made it for my husband for valentines day, but i can't WAIT to make it for company next time!! Had to come back and add - even BETTER the second time!!! And try adding a cup of hot coffee to the mix instead of water. It enhances the chocolate flavor. I did four layers instead of two - it makes for a HUGE cake. Ganache between each layer. Added shaved white chocolate to the top. The birthday girl RAVED and now everyone wants me to make this cake for their birthday!

Strawberry and Feta Salad

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2009
Wow! Absolutely wonderful. I used a spring mix salad instead of romaine, and it looks gorgeous! I made it just for my husband and I for dinner, but I will definetely be using this recipe the next time we have company. LOVE IT!! My husband, who is NOT a salad fan, said this was the best salad he'd ever had, and has requested that I make this all the time! I made a chocolate cake for desert, and he didn't want cake, he wanted more salad!

Taste great but the dough is pretty sticky in the morning! It was difficult to make the rolls look "smooth". Maybe I didn't do it right. But anyway, they're delicious and SO EASY!

FABULOUS. I've made this for my family several times and we LOVE it. It is better with real bacon though, but it's great with the bottled bacon pieces too.
