I'm in my early thirties and I've been cooking ever since I was a kid. I really got into cooking when I was a vegetarian (for 10 years). Now I'm back to eating meat, and continue to cook all the time. My husband has professional culinary training, so he's great to have around if I have a question.
My favorite things to cook
I love cooking Italian and Italian-American dishes like lasagne, osso bucco, and Italian veggie dishes. I also like crockpot meals for in the middle of the week.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Baked goods like 3-C bread, butternut cake, and rum balls. Central European recipes like mushrooms and ground beef, stuffed peppers, and vititus.
My cooking triumphs
A backyard grilling party where I prepared the food for six professional cooks who were our guests. I was a little nervous to be cooking for so many culinary professionals at once, but everything tasted great!
My cooking tragedies
Attempting to cook an Italian chestnut soup. Peeling the chestnuts was impossible, and I ended up throwing them out and giving up on the soup.
