Mushion Pork

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2008
I had high hopes for this recipe, but truthfully, I found it to be very bland and boring even though my husband liked it. I added, 1 1/2 t. worcestershire, fresh mushrooms, garlic powder, onion powder, and pepper and this recipe still fell short of my expectations. I think maybe adding onion soup mix would perhaps give it a little more kick if I decided to make it again.

Tender Pork Roast

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2007
Outstanding for a simple recipe! The pork loin I used literally fell apart :) I did turn the meat half way through the cooking time as the soup did not cover the whole thing. Other than that, I followed the recipe as stated.

Banana Crumb Muffins

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2007
This recipe was really good :) I did as others suggested by using oil instead of the butter and by adding vanilla to the batter. Others had problems with the topping saying it melted into the muffins. I used a wire wisk to blend the topping mix and it turned out great creating a crunchy top. Make sure not to over mix the topping mix and you should have no problem :)

Sausage Potato Bake

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2007
I made the crockpot version and this turned out really delicious :) This recipe had lots of flavor and was filling. The only changes I made was to add a medium onion, parsley flakes, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. I will recommend this recipe to others as an inexpensive and delicious recipe. Thank you for sharing :)

Onion-Roasted Potatoes

Reviewed: May 29, 2007
This was really good. I made it as directed except for using russet potatoes. I like simple recipes like this one. For a no fuss side dish this one is a winner :)

Swiss Chicken Casserole II

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2007
This was very very good! I did make a few changes. 1st, I seasoned the chicken breasts with lemon pepper and garlic salt. I used shredded cheddar cheese and covered the chicken breast well. Regarding wine versus milk, I used both, half milk and half red cooking wine. I mixed 1 cup of hot water with the stuffing mix and the butter. Even my picky husband thought it was very good. Thanks for this keeper of a recipe :)

Salsa Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2006
I really liked this recipe! Unbelievably good for something sooo simple! Although it has been stated to be too spicy by some, using mild salsa and limiting how much taco seasoning is used on the chicken will meet the approval of those with a more tender palate. I used mild salsa and a whole taco seasoning packet and found the recipe to be delicious! Definately a keeper :)

Michelle's Peanut Butter Marbled Brownies

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2006
My hopes were definately for something different than what these were. Upon mixing the peanut butter part, I found that it seemed to have little or no taste, so I added a teaspoon of vanilla. These brownies turned out to be cake-like brownies and the brownie part was flavorful. Although I added vanilla, the peanut butter part has little flavor. My preference tends to be for chewy brownies in which these were not. I won't likely make these again.

Vicki's Hush Puppies

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2006
Well, this is okay for homemade but some things are just better bought from the store like Martha White hushpuppy mix which is what I usually buy, but I did not have any on hand, so I tried this recipe. I did decrease the recipe by 1/2 and I did add milk as others have recommended. The flavor was just kind of bland.

Little Mickey's Favorite Cheesecake

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2006
Hmm. I had high hopes for this recipe, but, I thought it tasted very bland, lacked sweetness, and the filling seemed heavy to me. I have not thrown in the towel on this recipe as I think that adding a can of sweetened condensed milk could correct the bland taste.

Absolutely Ultimate Potato Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2006
I have mixed feelings regarding this recipe. It is true that this soup is delicious, however the time involved and the constant attention needed during cooking was more than I thought it was worth, not to mention that as another reviewer stated, it also created many dirty dishes. It is a very "heavy" soup and therefore I would recommend using the half & half that other reviewers used instead of the heavy cream. My overall thoughts during the duration of making the soup was, "surely I can find a less time consuming recipe that will be good." Unless you prefer "gourmet effort" or you need to wildly impress someone.

Blonde Brownies I

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2006
Marvelous, absolutely fantastic! I doubled the recipe (the only thing I changed) and used a 13x9 pan allowing a bit longer cooking time. Others have said these are "too sweet". Most blonde brownies I tried were disappointing as they were not sweet enough. My preferences in dessert run on the "rich" side". If you like rich desserts as I do, make as is for an 8x8 pan or double the recipe for a 13x9. Thank you for sharing this delicious recipe!

Raspberry Squares I

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2006
As far as taste these are very good :) However, using a 9x13 pan made the crust too thin. Next time I make this, I will double the crust. As is, I would recommend using an 8x8 pan and decreasing the raspberry jam.
