High Protein Peanut Butter Balls

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2011
I love these. I'm not much for sugar or processed food so these are perfect when I actually do have a little sweet craving. I used vanilla protein powder (it's what I had), 3 bananas and probably doubled the flax seeds, smooth PB (again, what I had) and I thought it needed a little more sweetness and added a tiny squirt of honey, and Ihave added agave nectar too. I keep them in the freezer all the time. Also good to grab on the way out the door if you don't eat breakfast. Thanks for this awesome idea. I would have never thought of it!!!

Spicy Shrimp and Grits

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2010
Followed recipe pretty closely after readng reviews. Minor changes, used what I had,red onions, more garlic, a little less cheese (jack and cheddar) some andouillee. i drained rotel tomatoes into measring cup and added chicken reduced sodium broth to make 3 1/2 c. liquid to cook grits. only cooked grits a few minutes, stirring constantly cause i used instant grits. added small amount of cajn creole seasonng to grits with the cheese and then poured skillet mixture on top and mixed lightly and baked about 20 min. husband loved it. it'sgood and really easy and i had everything on hand. thanks for good football watching food!!!

Slow Cooker Buffalo Chicken Sandwiches

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2010
this is awesome!!! i've made it several times. the last time i used the garlic spicy kroger wing sauce and it was perfect. i cut the butter in half but i think it does need that little bit of butter and i make my own ranch salad dressing mix, doesn't have all the nasty stuff. top these with blue cheese coleslaw from this site and you have an awesome sandwich. this is great for get togethers, so easy and everyone loves it. enjoy. and thanks for recipe. oh, i use leftovers to make buffalo chicken pizza and use mozzerella on pizza. 1/18/12. Just made it again, forgot how good this was!! So easy and always have the ingredients on hand. Husband loves this!!!

Creamy Artichoke Pasta

Reviewed: Jun. 22, 2009
We loved this. I rated it 4 as written, but 5 with my changes. This is so quick, pretty healthy and awesome. My way kinda ended up with everything but the kitchen sink. no need to cook artichokes, i skipped step 2 & mixed remaining ingredients & hot pasta. I added fresh spinach, sundried tomatoe bits, roasted red peppers, a little feta & kalamata olives. I used a marinated artichoke salad which contained garlic. skipped the onions. used shredded six cheeses from sam's.

English Baked Potatoes

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2009
I've made these several times but have not taken the time to review. They are in the toaster oven and Im having a glass of wine so I thought I'd do it now. We love these. I'm serving them tonight with East Carolina BBQ's,roasted veggies and salad. I just drizzle XXX Virgin Olive Oil on them after I've cut them(like fries, but not too thin)& put them in a produce bag I've saved from the store. Saves washing an oily bowl and recycles the bag. I use these for lots of things and even get an extra one every now and then. I use Celtic Sea Salt and pepper and they turn out great. I do bake them in our toaster oven (just 2 of us) at close to 400. Thanks much for the recipe. Much healthier than crappy old frozen fries with all their additives. Occasionally I sprinkle garlic or parmesan, but tonight they're mostly naked with S & P. 10/6/09 making these again tonight with garlic powder and parmesan to go along with the cream cheese jalapeno popper burgers from this site. third time i've made the burgers in a week. i used ground turkey and seasoned the meat and the cream cheese mixture, also added a little shredded cheddar tonite to the filling. these are great!!!

this was awesome. i used chicken broth, added chopped mushrooms and italian seasoning to the artichoke mixture and used plain feta with some chopped parsley on top. it was as good for breakfast this morning as it was for dinner last night. thanks for the recipe.

Mondi's Super Simple Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2007
made this tonight for the second time and i used chicken thighs both times because it happened that they were on sale really cheap. i removed the skin on half of them (made ten), was worried that they would be over done and tough, but they tasted great. this was a pretty high fat dinner, made the three cheese garlic scalloped potatoes from this site both times, but cut the cream by half and used fat free half and half. this is a nice combo. lightened it up with steamed broccoli and a veggie loaded salad. this is a really easy, good chicken recipe. thanks for sharing.

Garlic Broccoli

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2007
i just made this about an hour ago and omg, it is fantastic. i tasted it as soon as i made it, again just now and can't even imagine how good it will be while watching the academy awards tonight. i actually used the 1 1/2 t. of salt and wished i had read the reviews first, i usually do and i thought the amount was excessive. i used four huge garlic cloves and an amount of broccoli close to two heads. next time i will reduce the salt, and i will add more red wine vinegar. i think this is a great way to use up broccoli and make a healthy simple snack. thanks for the recipe.

Easy Lovely Lemon Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2007
i was excited about this recipe after reading all the reviews, but my experience was not as positive. we thought the dish was just okay. the chicken was moist (i did cover it for a while)but other than that, it was pretty unremarkable. also, my curry powder was sort of in clumps on top of the breasts. we were very disappointed and i probably won't make this again.

Butterscotch Oatmeal

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2007
I just made this for breakfast on our first snowy sunday morning with some fresh squeezed orange juice, fresh fruit, whole grain toast and it was absolutely wonderful. I did reduce the sugar to just under 1/4 c., used skim milk and added walnuts after it was cooked. Husband wanted fat laden breakfast so didn't want me to make this and believe it or not, he raved. It was wonderful, fast and really easy and I highly recommend it. I will make this often and even for company. I hope you enjoy it as much as we did and... LET IT SNOW!!

Artichoke Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2006
Wow, I made this for my husband and he has not stopped talking about it since. He got up Saturday morning and asked if we could have the leftovers for breakfast. (YEA, of course) It is definitely a company dish. I actually used a 6 oz, marinated artichoke and mixed a little mozzerella into the mixture. I added fresh parsley to the top. Served with a Basmati Rice Pilaf and Broccoli. I highly recommend this recipe.

Moroccan Lentil Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2006
i love lentil soup, it always makes me feel so healthy eating it. and this one did not disappoint. i made a couple of alterations as others did i used chicken broth instead of plain water. i did increase the garam masala and garlic. i stretched the soup by using one cup of red lentils and one cup of brown. increased the broth by a few cups and added 10 oz. box of frozen spinach in the last 15 minutes. i also sauteed some hot italian sausage for my husband, so he thinks he's getting a full meal. but i didn't add that to the soup, just put his bowl of soup. this is different from my usual lentil or curried lentil and i would recommend it to everyone. thanks for a great recipe.

Heavenly Hot Dog Sauce

Reviewed: Sep. 3, 2006
this is so much easier than browning the meat. i just throw it in a dutch oven and let it cook, stirring occasionally. i add some cayenne pepper for a kick and delete the white sugar. i think a small squirt of french's yellow mustard is a must. and you have to have cole slaw on the dog for an authentic west virginia hot dog. for the anatomy of a west virginia hot dog check out...wvhotdogs.com

Pat's Baked Beans

Reviewed: Sep. 3, 2006
this is my favorite baked bean recipes. so easy and a little different than most. personally i love the garbanzo beans and never leave them out. i sub black beans for the baked beans, that cuts the sweetness a little and adds a nice texture and color to the mix. i'm making these for labor day and think i will try cooking them on the stove til bubbly as someone else suggested. this recipe does make a lot, so plan for a big crowd or you will be eating them for a week.

Strawberry Oatmeal Breakfast Smoothie

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2006
this is absolutely delicious. mine was not vegan, i used skim milk and a bit of vanilla yogurt. otherwise, just like the recipe. one day i added some mango i needed to use up. the oats make it a little texturey (is that a word?), but we loved it. i think you could blend the oats first and then add other ingredients, but i always forget to do that. thanks for this healthy breakfast drink!!
