Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2007
This was very tasty! I used one can cream of chicken one can cream of mushroom and only one tube of biscuits(only because that was all I had). I think it would also work well if you didn't have the biscuits and used the good old Bisquick mix too. The best part was that cooking just doesn't get any EASIER than this, folks!

Sesame Brussels Sprouts

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2007
Pretty good but roasting sprouts in the oven with some garlic salt is less work and better tasting. Good if you're looking for something different.

Hearty Pasta Tomato Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2007
Not bad but not as great as I expected it to be. As recommended by other reviewers I doubled the broth but I also added probably double the tortellini as well. My kids were outraged that I expected them to actually it something with that many veggies but I really didn't expect a glowing review out of them anyway. Hubby said it was ok, too. I probably won't end up making it again because there are so many other recipes to try on this website.

Ten Minute Enchilada Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2007
Was definately quick and easy, ingredients that most would have in the pantry. I haven't used it to make enchiladas but it worked wonderfully with the slow cooker chicken tortilla soup.

Slow-Cooker Chicken Tortilla Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2006
Fantastic! I had a quick and easy chicken tortilla soup recipe that everyone really liked so I wasn't even going to try this one out but I'm so glad I did. It was easier and tastier! I also added a can of black beans (rinsed) for the last half hour or so. Delicious!

Lime Chicken Soft Tacos

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2006
Yummy! I substituted dried cilantro for the oregano and doubled the sauce (although next time I might even triple it). Fresh cilantro would probably be better but it was quite good as is. Also a little sour cream in the wrap would've been nice (albeit less healthy!) Thanks...this one is a keeper!

Butternut Squash, Apple, Onion Au Gratin

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2006
I followed the recipe exactly and I thought it was just alright. My husband said it wasn't terrible but if he never had it again in his life, it would be ok, so I'm fairly certain he (or I) never will.

Colorful Corn Chowder

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2006
I followed the advice of others and used some creamed corn with a bit of the regular frozen kind and substituted evaporated milk for the half and half and had disappointing results. I'm not sure which did it, but the soup had a unwanted sort of sweetness to it. If you're thinking of making this I would suggest avoiding the creamed corn and evaporated milk and just stick to the original recipe.

Jambalaya

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2006
Although I modified this recipe quite a bit it was still successful, easy, and best of all delicious! I steamed and shredded the chicken the day before and just added it in with the sausage in step 2. I was out of Cajun seasoning and used the same amount of Creole seasoning instead and all the other reviewers that said the file powder wasn't necessary were right. I didn't use it and didn't need it...the consistency was perfect. A definate keeper!
