Pad Thai

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2012
It really needs some color, so I added thinly sliced red pepper, also omitted the butter & used sesame oil. I used brown sugar instead of white sugar & lime instead of lemon. This recipe is pretty basic, but that's good, just add what you like.

Stuffed Sole

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2010
This was great! But I made one addition, I added a bit of softened cream cheese to the shrimp. Some leaked into the sauce, but that was good, as it made the sauce creamier. I wasn't sure how to cook sole before, but I think I'll be sticking to this recipe now.

Salmon Cakes II

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2009
delicious! I didnt have the cheese, so I left it out. I did add some finely diced red pepper. It was really moist. I will definitely make again, and next time I will add the cheese.

Best Egg Rolls

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2009
You only have to read the ingredients to know it will be bland. But I'm giving 5 stars as this is an excellent base recipe. You can add whatever you want to your own liking. I used 4 cups cabbage, added 2 green onions, sesame oil, soy sauce and fresh garlic. I omitted the flour water mixture and used a raw egg to bind the ingredients. I used another egg to brush along edges of rolls to make it stick together better. I didnt roll with the point toward me. Did them as a square. They were really fast and better than some restaurant ones I've tasted.

Thai-Style Peanut Sauce with Honey

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2009
Didnt give 5 stars because it was a little too sweet. I only added 1/2 the oil, but I should have only added half the honey. Other than that, it was really good, I served with chicken satay.

Favorite Pork Chops

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2009
It was really tasty! I will make them again, although I will add some orange juice next time to cut the saltiness of the soy sauce, or use low sodium if there is such a thing. I only had red peppers on hand, but that was the only thing i changed. What I also like about this marinade is that there is no oil in it. I skipped the extra sauce at the end, as they were already saucy enough.

Cabbage Patch Stew

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2009
I thought it might be bland with no broth, so I added some beef broth in place of the water, and left out the cumin and the beans. Added a pinch of marjoram and also added some rice to it. It turned out okay.

Banana Crumb Muffins

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2009
made the recipe exactly as listed, but added about 1/2 cup of walnuts. Rose up nice and high and I made 12 muffins. So easy to make and had some bananas that were over ripe. I will make it again.

Yogurt Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2009
Very moist chicken, we loved it. Glad I took other reviewers advice and cooked for 30 minutes. Would have been dry if cooked longer. I found the bottom was soggy, so will try it on a rack next time.

Feta and Roasted Red Pepper Dip

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2009
I found it a little bland, so added some lemon juice and greek spice. Tasty but a little runny. I even drained the yogurt so it would be thicker. I did use low fat though. Next time I will try adding a little low fat cream cheese.

Spinach Triangles

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2009
I had planned on making Spanakopita, but found my filo pastry freezer burnt, and pretty much crumbs. I had some frozen puff pastry in the freezer, so I was able to make these without going back to the store. These are great, I also added a little grated mozzarella

i added a bit of cornstarch too, as alot of the other reviews said they did, it was nice and firm, not runny. i used the whole cup of sugar and it wasnt too sweet, what was sweet was the topping, and i didnt use it all, it made quite a bit. i will definitely make it again!
