Roasted Beets 'n' Sweets

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2013
Fabulous recipe! I made this last fall for a group of visitors out in a public garden where I work--we get a taste from the garden and a tip appropo from the season. Everyone loved it! Thank you for a great (and colorful) recipe!

Absolutely Fabulous Greek/House Dressing

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2013
Sorry but I did not care for this dressing. I didn't care for it on the salad and ended up using the remainder as a marinade for chicken and it was okay.

Bourbon Slush

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2013
Tasty drink and very easy to put together. As other reviewers suggested, I prefer mine with a less sweet mixer: club soda. And though I made my batch in late spring--I think would be a great holiday cocktail. Thanks for the recipe!

Beet and Arugula Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2013
This was a very tasty salad--my daughter and I made it with our first grilled steak of the season and was a great complement to the meal! I would cut back on the salt due to the lemon juice in the recipe. Thanks for a great salad recipe!

Not to my liking at all. Made for Easter dinner. No one was very excited about it. Sorry Rhonda :(

Slow Cooker Fruit, Nuts, and Spice Oatmeal

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2013
Disappointed. I made this with high hopes to wake up on a cold and rainy spring morning. Didn't smell anything...oatmeal was very dark colored due to the cinnamon. Not burnt on the bottom of my crockpot but brown and hard--not appealing. Crasins were tasteless--will add them in after the cooking next time. Followed recipe but not happy with results--sorry Julie! I will try a few other crockpot steel oat recipes on the site because I do love it, but only when it is creamy. P.S. I do have a newer crockpot and I do not think the error was with the cooking time or temp.

Deliciously Sweet Salad with Maple, Nuts, Seeds, Blueberries, and Goat Cheese

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2012
There was nothing spectacular about this recipe. We had a maple themed potluck at my work and I chose this recipe. Salad ingredients were fine--they dressing was fine, but I probably wouldn't make it again.

Granny Kat's Pumpkin Roll

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2012
This tasted great! I did follow one reviewers suggestion to add a bit of Cinnamon Schapps to the filling and it was a great addition. Took this to a fundraiser trivia game night and everyone loved it.

This was a very tasty bread and had a nice chew to it from the coconut. In-laws liked it quite a bit.

Cranberry Bars

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2012
This was a great and tasty way to use up my leftover cranberry sauce from Thanksgiving dinner. Amazingly, I didn't have a yellow cake mix in the house but I did have lemon--and that turned out very well--would definitely make again! Brought it in to work and it was gobbled and lots of requests for the recipe.

Being the frugal gal that I am, I used dry black-eyed peas and doubled the recipe. A great healthy recipe to start the new year off right!

Hmmmm....will try again. Perhaps I overcooked my ham. Dried out and falling off the bone. Ended up making ham salad out of the rest. :(

All American Roast Beef

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2012
I'm not a great meat-maker and I had high hopes for this roast. Used the eye of round roast and all seasonings but found the meat to be a bit tough. Good flavor and used remainder for beef sandwiches, but not as tender as I had hoped. Any suggestions?
