Awesome and Easy Creamy Corn Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2009
I served this at our office Thanksgiving Party. Hardly anyone ate it. It's just not very appetizing when you look at it. I didn't like it either. I don't understand why it gets such rave reviews.

Chicken Teriyaki - It's a Secret

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2007
My whole family liked this. I let it marinate for about an hour, and then my husband kept basting the chicken with the marinade as he grilled it. Talk about an easy marindade - just two ingredients I always have on hand. The chicken was moist and tasty. Thanks!

Savory Chicken Breasts

Reviewed: May 23, 2007
I was disappointed in this. The cream of chicken soup just made it salty and uninteresting. I don't recommend this recipe at all.

Whole Wheat Muffins

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2006
These were extremely quick and easy to make. I was very pleased with their texture and taste. They struck me as versatile as well. Will definitely be making them again and playing with the recipe some.

Brussels Sprouts in Mustard Sauce

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2006
I wasn't sure if "prepared mustard" meant dry mustard. I used chicken stock I'd frozen from having boiled chicken. I am a lover of brussel sprouts, but this did not come out the way I expected at all. I will not be making it again.

Grain and Nut Whole Wheat Pancakes

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2006
My family and I did not like these at all. The pancakes were difficult to flip over for one thing. They were also difficult to fully cook. I thought they were done by length of cooking time and by their coloring, but when I tasted, it was still raw in the middle. The taste was not exciting either. I'm frankly surprised they have such high marks from most reviewers. By old fashioned oatmeal, you meant Quaker Oats, right?

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2006
This was exactly as described, unbelievably easy and delicious. The only thing that didn't quite work out was the quantity of the meat. We couldn't find a 5.5 lb. roast. Ended up with a 4.5 pounder and even that ended up being too big for our crock pot, so I cut off maybe a pound, and put it in the crock pot. The gravy that results is wonderful! I have a lot left over that I can use for other things.

Classic Bran Muffins

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2006
These were quick and easy to make. We left out the raisins because my kids don't like them. My daughter gobbled down three for breakfast. Definitely good! Thanks.

Black and White Pizza

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2006
Because my kids are very particular, I did NOT include the black beans, the jalapeno or the parsley -- although when it's just us grownups, I'd be interested in trying the complete recipe. Even without these things the pizza was better than I expected. Also because several other reviewers said one cup of Alfredo sauce was too much, I just sort of spooned it on smoothing it all over the pizza crust. I probably ended up using about 1/2 cup, maybe even less. I also sprinkled about 1/4 cup of fresh grated parmesan cheese on top. This could be done when you take the pizza out. Next time, I also want to try what the crust package suggested which I noticed AFTER I put all the stuff on the pizza, and THAT IS to spread some olive oil on the pizza crust to begin with - I think they said a tablespoon. What I like about pizza recipes is that obviously they're easy to play with, and so you can satisfy your own taste.

Beth's Scalloped Cabbage

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2006
I typically eat cabbage with polish sausage and onions. Normally I just boil it in water with a dash of bacon fat. This was a nice change. It was quick, easy and tasty. I did use regular cheddar instead of American Cheese. We will definitely make it again. I also want to try the other scalloped cabbage recipe that is listed here and compare the two.

Sweet and Sour Meatloaf

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2006
With over 170 reviews and an average rating of 5 STARS, I was really excited and optimistic about making this. Followed the recipe to a "T" and it turned out to be a disappointment. The smell as it was cooking was a turn off, and then the meatloaf itself was kind of bland. The sweet and sour sauce was tasty, but just too sweet for a meatloaf. Neither my husband nor myself would want to serve it again.

Momma's Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2006
Like some other reviewers, I was a little concerned about using uncooked egg white, but I did it anyway, making sure I added it quickly while potatoes were very, very hot during the beginning of the mashing process. These potatoes were absolutely wonderful. They had a great flavor and were light and fluffy. No more making them the way I used to. This recipe is to be used from now on - at least on regular mashed potatoes. THANKS!!!

Best Tuna Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2006
Having read the reviews, and seeing how dry it was just with the mushroom soup, I too added 1/2 cup of milk. My kids, ages 13 and 16, didn't like the casserole at all, and my husband and I just felt it was "okay." I won't be making it again. I'm very surprised it's gotten such consistent rave reviews.

Southern Mushroom Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2006
We had a pint of mushrooms we needed to use or lose, so I tried this recipe. I thought this was very good, quick and easy. We happened to have every ingredient on hand too, which saved us another trip to the store. I ate it again the next day without any bread and a hearty helping of grated cheddar. It was a great lunch at work! I might even like it better without the bread, so consider it optional IMHO.
