California Jalapeno Trout

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2014
This recipe does not tell you to add the jalapenos to the mango mix, so it was confusing as to what to do with them. I improvised and simply added them. I love the taste with the jalapenos, although I think a little salt goes a long way here. I would have given it a five, but the directions for the jalapenos was left out.

Apple Cinnamon White Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2014
I, too, found that the timing was off by about 7 minutes. The cake is perfect, otherwise. It is easy to make and tastes delicious. I will try using applesauce with my next venture. I also added some chopped pecans just to jazz it up a bit. My husband really likes sweets, so this is right up his alley. Thank you, Jinglebells .

Red Broccoli Salad

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2013
Very good recipe, especially for a large gathering. I did not use bacon, because this was a side dish. I also substituted the almonds for pine nuts and sunflower seeds. A hit with everyone. This is in my recipe box!

Southern Ham and Brown Beans

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2013
I love pinto beans and ham hocks! When I came across this recipe, it reminded me of the recipe my grandmother used to make for her farm hands as an afternoon meal. Yummy is all I can say. I usually modify recipes, but this one I made exactly as it was written. The beans were tender, the flavors reminded me of winter day. My ham hocks were perfect. What a great recipe. Thank you! It is now in my permanent recipe box.

Cream of Chicken Breasts

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2013
This recipe is simply delicious. I made a couple of changes, though. I used 1 can of cream of chicken soup and 1 can of cream of mushroom soup, then squeezed lemon into the mix. I love the flavor of the added lemon. I didn't use chicken breasts, I used chicken thighs and drumsticks, which we prefer.

Smoked Turkey Tortilla Wraps

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2013
These were a little bland for our taste, so I mixed cream cheese with pesto and horse radish, added cucumbers and fresh spinach. Since I made them the day before an event, I omitted the avocado. I also used the spinach wraps, which gave it a great flavor. Will make again. Thanks for the recipe. Now that I'm reading my review, I guess I made a whole new wrap.

Monster Sour Cream Enchiladas

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2013
I've made a dish similar to this for years. I usually use only one can of cream of chicken soup, along with green chile enchilada sauce, add ortega chiles, sour cream, onions and cheese (cheddar). I mix it all together with the chicken and then fill the tortillas and roll them up. Top it with the chicken mixture and cheese. Similar, and great!

Hot Tamale Pie

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2013
This recipe was tasty and filling, which is what I look for in a quick meal, believe me. The one thing I did change was that I added some jalapeno peppers along with the poblano. I love the flavor of poblano, but we also like spice. The jalapenos did the trick. Very tasty and flavorful.

Italian Calzone

I like this idea much better. I also used Mozzarella and ricotta, then added salami, onions, bell peppers, and red pepper flakes.

Real Italian Calzones

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2013
I agree with mrsdi...no cheddar cheese. I used Ricotta and Mozzarella because I love the stringy texture of the cheese. I also used salami, bell peppers, onions with the pepperoni. Adding some red pepper flakes makes this recipe absolutely delicious.

Original Irish Cream

This is an excellent recipe. For the person who has problems with the separation, all you have to do is shake the container when you serve it. That way you won't lose any of this wonderful concoction.

The Best Parmesan Chicken Bake

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2012
This dish was delicious. I used Trader Joe's marinara sauce and put some at the bottom of the dish. I also added extra red peppers (because we like spicy) and an extra clove of garlic. I love the flavors. Will definitely make again.

Pecan Sour Cream Pound Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2008
This recipe is delicious. To the person who wrote that it was too sweet with the 3 to 2 cups, please re-read the recipe. It is 3 to 3 cups flour and sugar. Moist, and it falls out of the bunt pan if you use a vegetable spray prior to pouring the batter.
