Best Brownies

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2013
These are the best, soft-cake-like brownies!!! To make it denser, I would skip baking powder next time.

Favorite Old Fashioned Gingerbread

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2012
Flavor was great, but it was a bit too dry. I followed other people's suggestion and doubled the spices which was a great choice. Next time I will add more water, butter, and cook less to make it moist.

Indian Chicken Curry (Murgh Kari)

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2012
This is something I make quite often in my home. You can vary ingredients and spices, but it always turn out great. You don't have to use half cup of oil though. I only use a few table spoons of oil and it's plenty yummy!!!

Authentic German Potato Salad

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2012
This was very refreshing and good, but I'm not sure if I like the vinegar taste all that much. Next time I will put a bit less vinegar. Overall flavor was great. I love the onion and bacon mixed with warm potatoes.

Caramelized Spicy Pumpkin Seeds

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2012
Fantastic! I couldn't stop eating these. As reviewers suggested I used butter instead of police oil, but it turned out a bit greasy. Next time I will use half the butter. The spice mixture was delicious. Now I need to go buy another pumpkin so I can make more of these!!!

Roasted Brussels Sprouts

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2012
These were the best brussel sprouts I've ever had! I halved the sprouts and microwaved for 2-3 minutes, then coated them in the oil+seasoning+garlic powder. Also, I roasted these in 425 degree oven for 15-20 minutes (depends on the amount you cook, you should look inside the oven frequently). I can eat the whole stalk full of these!

Chef John's Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2012
I LOVE this soup! This big dumpling was a huge hit. I used chicken thighs instead of a whole chicken which saved time, and the meat was tender. I didn't have any creme fraiche available so used yogurt instead, plus some chicken broth in the dough, and the dumpling was very smooth and flavorful. I will make this again on any time I need warm comfort food!!!

Ginger Glazed Mahi Mahi

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2012
The best! I didn't change the recipe except that I had some fresh Ginger so I used that, and my bf and I finished the fillet before we knew! The pungent ginger flavor was awesome.

Too Much Chocolate Cake

This was absolutely heavenly and evil at the same time. My boyfriend who doesn't have the sweet tooth ate for large slices in one day...that never happened before!

Spicy Cilantro Dressing

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2011
This was so good with some baked salmon fillet! My boyfriend isn't crazy about the baked fish dish, but I think this sauce changed his mind a big time!

This is so easy to make, and yet has such wonderful taste! I make this all season including on a warm summer day...because it is that good. My boyfriend loves this whenever I make it!

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

This was perfect for my boyfriend who caught a cold. It makes nice and thick hearty soup! Only thing I changed was to use the potato skin too.

Finnish Pulla

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2011
What an awesome bread for holiday parties! I baked two loaves for a party tonight and they were gone in no time before they got cold! Add more milk than the recipe calls for, otherwise it is rock hard. I made this twice and added more milk the second time.

Rolled Dumplings

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2011
Excellent recipe! I added a bit of chopped parsley in the dough. Instead of rolling I tore the dough and spread it to thin rounds and tossed them right to the boiling pot of chicken soup. Super easy to make such a good winter soup on a cold night!

Curried Coconut Chicken

I cook curry almost everyday but this is one of my fave! Next time though, I'll add more curry powder as I love strong curry flavor! I added some potatoes into this curry stew and it was fantastic!

Creamy Rice Pudding

Simply awesome. I only had half the milk so I ended up using a lot of soy milk mixed with dairy milk. It was a great hit at a party I went to!

Oriental Cold Noodle Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2011
What a great Asian noodle recipe! I'm Korean and I crave cold noodles in the summer time. This was perfect for my boyfriend who can't eat something too spicy. This was just right amount of spicy for my American friends too! I added a bit of Vietnamese dipping sauce to make it more exotic...turned out so refreshing!

Donut Muffins

Reviewed: May 21, 2011
Terrible! Terrible! I ended up eating so many of these in one seating, it's terrible for my diet!!! I even used only half the sugar indicated and it's plenty sweet and yummy. Nutmeg really is a good flavor. I didn't have white sugar for the dusting so I used powdered sugar and cinnamon mix which made them taste super yummy. This is the most evil-good recipe I've read/tried so far.

Best Hot Crab Dip

Reviewed: May 20, 2011
This needed to be changed to make it less greasy. I only used half the cheeses and I'll probably use low-fat sour cream instead of full fat. I love capers but this made the dip incredibly salty. I'll use less capers next time. Overall this was a good start.
