Baked Macaroni and Cheese

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2007
I loved this recipe, however I did make a couple of minor modifications. First, I used 4T of butter, and 3.5c of cheese. Second, I warmed/melted cheese into the milk/egg mixture on medium heat while cooking the macaroni. Third, I put a layer of Italian Bread Crumbs on top of dish and covered for 15 minutes while baking. Uncovered it for the last 15 minutes then stirred in the bread crumbs before serving.

Shortcut Potato Onion Perogies

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2007
This recipe was very good and I will use it again. Instead of instant potatoes, I used left over mashed potatoes. I put 1 T butter in a pan and sauteed the onions then added the mashed potatoes. The whole family loved them. I'll use this recipe every time I have left over mashed potatoes. Although it didn't affect the taste of the finished product, the dough is a bit tough to roll out at first.

Wonderful taste and very easy to make. We used the leftovers to make shredded beef burritos the next day.

Three-Cheese Spaghetti Bake

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2007
I made this for dinner tonight and it was wonderful! I did make a few additions/modifications but nothing drastic. I used Cheddar Cheese instead of the Mozzarella, 1 1/4 c of Parm/Romano blend cheese from Kraft instead of the individual cheeses, and I added hamburger, mushrooms and olives to my sauce. This is a keeper.

Italian Style Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2007
This recipe is very good. I made a few modifications based on other reviewers and because I only had 4 chops. I crushed about 1 cup of saltines, put 1/3 c parmesan cheese and eyeballed the other ingredients. Also, I sprayed the pan with PAM and did not add the extra butter and they came out crispy.

Easy Ground Beef Stroganoff

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2009
Tasty and quick. Made in the crockpot so instead of all the water I added one can of Cream of Mushroom Soup, one can of water. Also put one cup of sour cream in at the end to thicken it up.

Garlic Red Potatoes

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2008
This recipe was very good. I did however make a few changes. Used olive oil instead of butter and cooked them for about 70 minutes. We're going to use the leftovers at breakfast. I may try adding some spices the next time, it could handle some seasoned salt or extra garlic or onion powder. Even chopping up an onion would be a tasty alteration. Definately a keeper.

Classic Whole Wheat Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2007
This recipe is very tasty and I will use it again, but the recipe as it is written only makes 1 loaf of bread and it doesn't raise very high. The next time I make it, I think I'll skip the 2nd rising and just put the dough into the bread pan, let it rise and then bake.

Very good recipe. My daughter and I loved them and made them just as the recipe said. I may let the batter sit overnight the next time to see how that goes.

Tortillas I

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2007
I picked 3 stars because as written this is an ok recipe. However, I modified this by increasing the shortening to 1/3 cup and added about 1/4 to 1/3 cup of buttermilk into the flour just before adding the water. The texture was exactly what we were looking for and they stayed fresh for over 24 hours.

We really liked this recipe. It has a good flavor, was easy to pull together. This is a very basic base recipe that I can use to either feed kids or dress up with a few extra spices for something different.

This recipe is awesome. We had left over steaks and the next day we sliced them up and made a Beef & Pepper Stir-Fry and that tasted great too.

Wonderful, easy recipe. Will make again. I added a can of light beer and then another can of water to make it the consistency we like but other than that, followed the recipe exactly.
