Slow Cooker Baby Back Ribs

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2015
I thought that the ribs were excellent. Followed the recipe as is, except that along with the salt/pepper called for in the recipe, I added brown sugar, onion powder and garlic powder (to taste) to the rub. Poured Diet Coke into the slow cooker instead of water and cooked on high for exactly 4 hrs. Conducting a little taste test, I coated half of the ribs with Sweet Billy Ray's BBQ sauce and the other ribs with Safeway store brand BBQ sauce and baked for 20 minutes. Safeway won! The meat was tender, succulent and melted in my mouth without senselessly falling off the bone when being handled. After all, the fun in eating ribs is taking the meat off the bone with your MOUTH!

Spicy Italian Pork Cutlets

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2013
Followed the recipe as is except that I used dried parsley. I used savignon blanc for the wine. The sauce tasted great and, surprisingly, you could taste the spiciness. It was a very tolerable 'American-grade' spiciness...but was still at a pleasurable level for spicy food lovers like myself.

Turkey Empanadas Grande

Reviewed: May 19, 2006
Tasty. I used a pillsbury deep dish pie crust. The meat definitely needs salt or any kind of salt based seasoning. I did notice as I was cooking that the recipe was missing something and my tastebuds confirmed it. Will make again and probably use adobe.

Fresh Southern Peach Cobbler

Oh boy! Favorite dessert recipe on this site. If you make this once be prepared to be begged to make it again. Simply exquiste served warm with some Berber's vanilla bean ice cream and champagne.

Chris's Incredible Italian Turkey Meatloaf

Mushy and uninspiring taste. Maybe beef would save it. I am a ground turkey lover, but this recipe was not quite right for it.

Garlic Mashed Potatoes Secret Recipe

A shame that this recipe used to be a secret. Gorgeous taste, especially for the garlic lover in you. Recommend changing nothing in this recipe.

Strawberry Crepes

Reviewed: May 19, 2006
Tasted much like a sweet pancake. Batter was a little thick. Recommmend somehow making it less thick, then could squeeze a couple of more crepes from this recipe. Tasted good regardless, so maybe you should just leave it alone.

Chicken Katsu

Just thought it was average for a fried chicken dish. Nothing really interesting or exciting with its look or taste.

Candied Chicken Breasts

Reviewed: May 19, 2006
My friend thought that it was a 5 star. It was good, nice and tender. Nothing wrong, but I just would have preferred a more "aggressive" taste. Maybe adding more sugar will put it over the edge for me.

Pecan Breaded Chicken Breasts

Reviewed: May 19, 2006
Very tasty and interesting. Don't be shy with the maple syrup. I dipped the chicken instead of brushing the syrup on and the pecan breading had no trouble staying on the chicken during cooking.

Nice complement to pecan breaded chicken made from this site. Makes girls like me more. Which is peculiar since my charming personality should be enough.

I loved this stuff. I used dry cilantro instead of fresh. Was still delicous. Warning: takes the utmost in self-control to keep from finishing the whole pan yourself.

Supreme Strawberry Topping

Reviewed: May 19, 2006
Yaayeaaah! Topped Chantel's New York cheesecake with this. If you decide to add cornstarch to get it to your desired consistency, remember to dissolve the cornstarch in a few teaspoons of water first or you will get lumps. But it will be delicious regardless!
