Buffalo Chicken Dip

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2014
I love this recipe! It is easy to make! I just throw everything together and nuke it in the microwave! I take this to parties, especially a fave among the mens. :)

Fresh Rhubarb Pie

Reviewed: Jun. 14, 2012
This was a great filling and the tip about why not to mix the sugar with the rhubarb before was soooo helpful. Even with a finicky oven I turned out a great pie!

Italian Love Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2008
This was a great recipe. I was looking for something different for an international potluck and didn't have much time to make something. The cake was moist because I read the reviews and some people who cooked their cake following the exact recipe said their cake was dry. I took mine out a little bit earlier. I just watched to see when the sides began pulling away from the pan, then checked it with a toothpick to make sure it came out clean. Also I liked that it was not overwhelmingly sweet. Everyone loved the cake and actually a few days later one of the girls asked for the recipe. I thought this was a great success!

Churros

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2006
I liked this recipe because I'd never made churros before and it was very simple. On the other hand I didn't have a fryer so I used a stew pot to fry them in the oil. This was a problem. The oil got really hot and burned the churros without fully cooking them. I ended up keeping the heat on medium and the churros cooked slower and lighter. They cooked inside and were not too hard. The key was to cook them until they were a light color. My churros came out thin maybe about 1/4 inch around in circumfrence. Perfect for watching the waist! I used a pastry bag during my test run because you can choose how long you want them. The second time I used a cookie press. The problem was they came out shorter than I wanted, about 3 inches long. Nice for kids! I liked them about 5-6 inches in length. I didn't do anything special to the recipe except follow it and instead of adding all of the flour I only added enough so the dough wasn't too sticky to pipe through the pastry bag. When I made them for the actual event I doubled the recipe. That was more difficult because the dough began getting hard which makes it tough to get through the pastry bag. Everyone who had one said they were really good! And yes I did roll them in cinnamon and sugar!

Gram's Persimmon Pudding

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2006
Okay, so this sounded really good. Unfortunately there must be a mistake with the measurement of the baking soda because this was a recipe gone completely wrong! It was a total waste of time and ingredients because the batter tasted like a big alka-seltzer tab! My roomate and I did have a great laugh over the catastrophe though! Once it was baked it retained the same flavor which was of salt and fizzy baking soda. It was horrible! Please look over the ingredients list!
