Carrot and Cilantro Soup

Reviewed: May 22, 2006
This soup is amazing! I only had 1 400g (14 ounce)tin of tomatoes, so I used a litre (2.1 pints) of low salt vege stock instead. It's a lovely thick soup with a great texture. added a little extra cream at the end as our chilli was a burner!! Will definitely make again.

Bacon and Egg Breakfast Tarts

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2006
This has also become a regular at brunch gatherings for us! This recipe is pretty much perfect, I used whole pieces of bacon and wrapped them around the cups so it "hugs" the egg. I also added a teaspoon of Dijon mustard per 2 servings for extra flavour. Thanks for your yummy recipe!

Chicken with Couscous

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2006
It was a good recipe, quick and easy. It definitely tasted better the next day as curries tend to do! I also added red capsicum and a little more cornstarch. Blended fresh coriander and toasted pinenuts through the cous cous. Not sure about the Mexican/Indian/Morrocan take on this. I'd put it on rice next time. Thanks for your yummy recpe!

Saute of Beef with Wild Mushrooms

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2006
Fantastic rich sauce and tender meat. I cooked the beef for 15 minutes only also as I had a cheaper type of beef. I also thought it was missing something taste wise so I added a tablespoon of tomato paste and thickened with cornflour. Otherwise great recipie

Beef Wellington

Excellent recipie! Thanks alot, my english boyfriend loved it! I made it for 2, so I asked my butcher for the cooking time on a smaller piece (500g/1.1 pounds) I browned the meat then baked for 25 mins and rested for 10. Perfect!

Easy Chocolate Tofu Pie

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2006
G'day from sunny Australia! Yummy yum yum!! I made this recipe today for a vegan friend (we're very carnivourous in our household). I read all the reviews carefully; the best suggestions 1. Use splenda it takes away the bitter choc /tofu taste(but only use half as much as the recipie asks for otherwise it's too sweet) 2. food processor makes a lovely smooth pie, 3. Omit the vinegar. Thanks for the tips! I added a splash of "Baileys" which made it quite rich but good :) Also made a cheesecake base with vegan coconut cookies and vegan butter. Finally toppped with fresh rasperries and strawberries (it's summer here) and a scoop of vanilla soy ice cream. A perfect chocolatley dessert!!
