Paprika Pork Chops

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2007
Wow! This is the first time I've broiled pork chops - and they turned out fantastic. Only change was to double the sour cream and sauerkraut as per another reviewer's suggestion. Even the picky 2 year old gobbled it up!

Baked Salmon II

Reviewed: May 13, 2013
Fantastic! I very rarely give a recipe a 5, but this one deserves it. Even my two older "we don't eat any fish but tuna from a can" daughters loved it and asked for more. Even better cold the next day.

Sweet Potato Pie I

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2011
YUM! And ALL THREE of our small children ate her piece in 10 seconds flat! The only change I made was to split the sugar 1/2 white and 1/2 brown. Great for breakfast too!

Poor Man's Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2009
We love these cookies! During the Lenten season here in Russia, all products of animal origin are excluded, so these cookies are great for serving with tea to guests whether they are fasting or not. I have made them at least 5 times in the last month, and always get a positive response.

Clone of a Cinnabon

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2009
OK, not a Cinnabon, but definitely one of the best cinnamon rolls I have ever eaten! As per another reviewer, I turned the pan upside down and let all the gooey sweetness drip back over the buns. The cream cheese frosting seemed a bit like gilding the lily, however, next time I'll replace it with milk

Cranberry Sauce

I, too, reduced the OJ b/c I like it thicker. So incredibly simple and so delicious!

Bread and Celery Stuffing

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2008
Now that I know how simple and how delicious this is, I will never go back to the box stuff. I served this for Thanksgiving to a group of people who had never tried stuffing - and there were NO leftovers!

Greek Chicken Wrap

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2008
Loved it! DH especially appreciated the tang of the fresh pressed garlic. I used leftover chicken from a roast instead of the marinated breasts and it was just great.

Mint Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 12, 2008
DH and I both loved it - the only changes I made were garlic powder instead of fresh and the addition of seasoned salt. Kids hardly touched it, but they were more interested in getting back to the new wading pool! Unusual, simple and delicious!

Burmese Chicken-Coconut Soup (Ohn No Kyawswe)

Reviewed: May 16, 2013
Unbelievably yum! Made it pretty much as written, except the chick was already cooked, skipped optional garnishes, and only 1/4t cayenne, which left it still quite spicy. Even at that, my 10 and 7 year olds happily devoured their portions, alternating bites with salad or bread to mitigate the heat! Definitely a keeper!

Cheese Lover's Tuna Casserole

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2007
WOW! EVERYONE, including finicky toddler, cleaned their plates for this one. DH even went for seconds. I didn't even have all the cheese and croutons called for in the recipe, and it still turned out great. THanks so much!

Whole Wheat Honey Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2007
We loved it - the loaf was gone in a flash. I didn't have dry milk powder, but it turned out fantastic anyway - just following some of the other suggestions to add salt to the water, and changing to white bread, light crust setting. Thanks for such a simple, delicious recipe!

Lemon Garlic Tilapia

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2007
What an easy, delicious recipe! Our whole family adores this dish, even the picky little ones, so much so that I made it the following week with lime juice - again a hit! As per a different recipe, I poured a bag of frozen broccoli into the baking dish and laid the fish on top. Baking time took aboout 5 minutes longer, but again, fantastic. We served it with brown rice on the side.

Whole Grain Waffles

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2013
Super yum! Only change I made was to increase the oil on account of no applesauce to be found! Kids loved it. Mom's happy. Big win all the way around.

Capirotada (Mexican Bread Pudding)

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2006
I made this just because I happened to have all the ingredients on hand. It's fantastic! Like a sweet French toast casserole, minus the eggs. Would be great as a brunch dish.

Red River Beef Stroganoff

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2007
Pretty good for a weeknight dish, but my kids weren't as interested as I thought they'd be. Husband and I enjoyed it, but I felt it to be bland, and in need of some jazzing up.

Home-Style Brown Rice Pilaf

Reviewed: May 16, 2011
Tasty enough, especially when sprinkled with soy sauce as recommended. One child ate it happily, one with the promise of dessert, and the third refused to eat more than a bite. DH and I both enjoyed it. I made it exactly as written with the exception of excluding the mushrooms, and adding some "Turkish Spice". Next time I'll try substituting cilantro for the parsley as it still seemed too bland to me.
