About this Cook
I'm a graduate student, so my life is pretty much consumed by schoolwork, but I'm also a wife who loves to cook! I cook and bake in my spare time, and I've succeeded in making my very skinny husband gain at least a tiny bit of weight since we got married!
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook desserts, especially unconventional ones, because I love to see people enjoy a new dessert that they've never tried before! I also like trying to master and perfect the basics -- chocolate cake, chocolate chip cookies, et cetera.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I always go to my parents' for Thanksgiving dinner. My mom has perfected the dinner, so there's no need to do the whole Thanksgiving dinner on our own, but I'm always responsible for making dessert. I like to put a spin on traditional desserts, so this year I made apple flan ... yum!
My cooking triumphs
Blueberry bread. I get asked to make this over and over and over again. It's a simple quick bread, but for some reason, people love it!
My cooking tragedies
I once tried to make cinnamon rolls. I had yet to master using yeast, so they were the most dense cinnamon rolls you've every seen! They weren't bad, just small!

Broiled Tilapia Parmesan
Very yummy! I added bread crumbs to the cheese mixture, which makes it nice and crunchy. It is very rich, so I don't think I'd recommend it for those who don't like cheesy, buttery goodness, but my husband and I both loved it!

Valentino's Pizza Crust
I love this pizza crust. I have tried MANY different crust recipes, and I have never come across such a soft, tender dough. Most dough is tough and very elastic, but this was so soft and so easy to handle, not to mention delicious! Thanks for the recipe!

Pork Dumplings
These are awesome, but I can't imagine that six people could finish these! Definitely not an accurate "servings" number. I would add a bit of salt to the mixture, even with the soy sauce. I used ground turkey, and it worked out great!
