Joseph's Best Easy Bacon Recipe

Reviewed: Jun. 13, 2015
Oh, yes. The easiest and best way to cook bacon, ever. I've been doing this for forty+ years. I even do this in a toaster oven when cooking a few slices just for one serving. Sometimes I will put a bit of the bacon fat in a skillet for fried eggs, yummy!

Awesome Broccoli-Cheese Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2014
Yes, this is awesome. A family fav for the last ten years. My daughter was making it, but when she died the recipe was handed down (up) to me. Made it again today for T'giving. Yummo. The first veggie side dish gone since my niece started doing her updated green casserole that nobody likes. Only changes:cut the cheese in half, as we like the broccoli to shine through, not the cheese and b/c I ran short of time, used crushed seasoned croutons instead of crax and butter. Actually liked it more b/o the hint of seasoning. Try it, you'll like it!

Raisin Sauce for Ham I

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2014
The sauce was way too orangey and sweet. Tastes much better with the addition of vinegar and more cloves.

I have been making this exact dip for over forty years! The only thing I do different is to spread seafood chili sauce in top. Always a hit.

Amazingly Delicious Prime Rib

Perfect! The only thing I add to the rub is 2 tbsp flour. It gives the coating a really good crunch for added texture

Blackened Green Beans

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2012
This is one of the all time great southern side dishes. I can't think of any meat it wouldn't be good with, and I have even eatten all by myself. When I do this I cheat (cooking for one) and use a can of green beans with the amount of bacon, onion and garlic you want, oh, don't forget the pepper.

Easy Devonshire Cream

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2012
Oh, so good. Did tweak a bit - a little more sugar and vanilla. Did not whip up firm despite useing stand mixer, but still great, and fantastic topping for the fresh fruit salad. I learned that after chilling the leftovers, the consistentcy was awsome.

Wild River Bloody Mary Mix

Oh, my, soooo good. Much better than anything you can buy, and how great that is ready to go. Until this time I've always made each glass separately. And I did add a bit of garlic powder

Swiss Chicken Casserole II

I first found this recipe in a Sunset favorite book(exactly the same), dating back to the early 80's. It has been a family favorite, a definite keeper, and a great company entree.

The Best Bean and Ham Soup

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2010
I can't even describe how good this soup is. The mustard, chili powder, worcestershire, and lemon gives this soup a distinctive taste that leaves you wondering just what made it so good. They all just blended in together without any one ingredient being over powering. You will never go wrong making that his soup. Rave reviews whenever and wherever I take it, and I don't change a thing, unless I'm out of an ingredient. Last time had to sub taco mix for chili powder, no noticeable change in taste. I cry to think of all the ham bones that are thrown out that could have been turned into this great soup P.S. If you like a thicker soup, use masher or immersion blender.
