Brown Sugar Cookies I

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2013
I used this recipe for Christmas cutouts. I'd been using my mothers recipe for years and years. This recipe is MUCH better. ( sorry mom ) I followed the recipe exactly except the whipping cream. I had none on hand but...I added a shot of eggnog instead. LOL. I think the cookies are perfectly sweet, and crisp. I also refrigerated for only an hour. No problems.

Rhubarb Strawberry Crunch

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2012
I used half the butter and half the white sugar this recipe calls for and tasted perfect to me. As with any recipe adjust to your own taste. I prefer a bit of tartness of the rhubarb so I used less sugar. I used a half a cup of butter in the crumble but mixed it very well with a pastry cutter. I thought it was perfect.

Chocolate Chip Cookies I

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2011
A good recipe that is very forgiving, each time I make it I throw in a few nuts, or some oatmeal, dried fruits, etc. Whatever I have leftover in the frig. Cookies turn out perfect each time. Last time I made these I drank a margaritas while they baked, even MORE enjoyable

Seasoned Turkey Burgers

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2010
I used half envelope of onion soup mix and these burgers were a tad to salty for me, next time I'll try 1/3 of an envelope. Otherwise I think this is a great recipe. The turkey has a great taste.

Quick and Easy Pizza Crust

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2009
This a really good crust recipe and I've tried quite a few. I added a few shakes of Italian seasoning, sea salt, and some of that Kraft Parmesan cheese, you know the stuff that comes in the shakers. I didn't use any corn meal or anything but I did roll out the dough on parchment paper then slid the whole thing onto my pizza stone. I plan to try all sorts of seasoning combos in the future and see what I can do.

Cran-Raspberry Pie

Made this for Christmas and everyone agreed this was a wonderful pie. I made according to the recipe but added a bit more tapioca as the mixture seemed very moist. The pie turned out perfect.

Three Cheese Garlic Scalloped Potatoes

This was very popular for Christmas dinner. I did cook it about 20 minutes longer to get the potato cooked more. Tastes great as leftovers as well

Scalloped Corn

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2008
This is my favorite scalloped corn recipe, I goofed and accidentally bought 2 cans of creamed corn but you really couldn't notice. I love the crisp edges that form around the perimeter, I scoop those out onto my plate first thing :)

Peanut Butter Popcorn

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2008
What a yummy treat. I too used a jar of mellow fluff. After mixing it up I lined a BIG roasting pan with that wonderful nonstick aluminum foil. I "baked" the mixture for about 30 minutes on 200°, turning every 10 minutes or so. I let cool and then I dumped the popcorn into a holiday tin. Everyone loved this recipe. Comfort food at its best

Peanut Clusters

Very yummy holiday treat, this recipe is better than my mothers ( sorry mom ) The grocery store was wiped out on Spanish peanuts so I used Planters roasted lightly salted peanuts. Tastes even better I think.

Beef Noodle Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2008
I doubled this recipe and slow cooked it in my shiny new 7 quart slow cooker. I used Herb Ox sodium and MSG free bouillon, and then salted to taste with sea salt. This is the perfect method for those who complain about too little or too much taste. Soups can be very subjective so start with a base recipe and season to taste. I threw in two cans of drained peas, cooked the egg noodles separate and added them to the slow cooker the last hour. Very yummy, hit the spot with outside temps near 0° and a snow storm.
