Mrs. Fields Sugar Cookies

Really Great Sugar Cookie recipe!!!! I froze the dough and then let it come to room temperature. I did use a bit of flour rolling it out but I think that's normal. Also, I baked in my fan oven for only 5 minutes!!!! I needed a quick sugar cookie recipe this Christmas because I wanted to make them with my daughter but did not want a zillion cookies...I think the service size was perfect for us. Will definitely adopt this as our sugar cookie recipe!

Slow Cooker Stuffing

really helped saved oven space!! It was absolutely excellent. I used French Bread cubes that I'd let dry out for two days and also added some grated carrot. I also used fresh sage. I just added a bit of broth as I went along and it turned out great. Also, I did not do the 45 minutes on high, just kept it on low for about 4 hours....GORGEOUS!! :)

Red Velvet Cake

I made cupcakes, and used butter instead of shortening and added a bit more cocoa. However I used "natural" red food colouring, so mine didn't turn out very red...more like a deep purple!! I have not frosted them yet, but I must say, the overal texture of the cupcakes is lovely and velvety.....very very nice and unique.

Maple Banana Bread

I think this recipe is absolutely gorgeous! I couldn't find maple extract so i just used Vanilla and it was absolutely fine. Once I even ran out of maple syrup halfway through and so i filled in the rest with golden syrup and it was still really good. I'm trying it once more with half whole wheat and we'll see how that turn out.

Chicken Honey Mustard Pie

This was really good. My husband loved it. I used whole grain mustard and I added mushrooms instead of potatoes (served mash on the side) I think i added a bit too much corn startch though cuz once it cooled down it got a bit too gelatin like for my liking (I've never made pie before though so you live and learn)

Oatmeal Raisin Cookies IV

These are lovely! However next time I will add more raisins. I used lovely organic eggs so i had no problmes with the dough being too dry. I also ran out of brown sugar so I substituted Muscavado sugar (very similar)I also added 1/2 teaspoon of cloves. My husband loves anything oatmeal raisin...i had to stop him from eating the dough!
