Corn Tortilla Chips

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2010
I'm more for healthier eating. I baked these at the recommend 425 degrees F. until crisp. I have always hated throwing away the last of my tortillas. Now I have my 2 1/2 and 5 year old use a pizza cutter and make chips as a snack for themselves. Thanks for posting this

Stuffed Beef and Black Bean Tamale Pie

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2010
Great recipe! I don't care for green onions but I did chop up about 1/2 cup of white onion and 1 clove of garlic and cooked it with the meat while browning. I also used 1 can of diced tomatoes, drained but saved 3/4 cup of the liquid. I used the tomato liquid instead of water. I didn't have any canned corn so I used 3/4 - 1 cup frozen corn. I didn't thaw it just tossed it in. Otherwise with my little corrections for personal taste....This was a fabulous dish. Thanks for sharing!!

Lemon Pepper Shrimp with Mustard

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2008
EXCELLENT DISH!!! Very good after I did some minor changes to the original recipe. First used twice as much wine, dijon mustard, and cilantro instead of parsley. Added Parmesan cheese and about 2 tsp of corn starch to make it a little thicker. Came out Perfect! Will make this one again and again. OH and served it with Orzo.

Corn Dogs

Great recipe!!! I found I like the batter thicker. The thinner the batter the thinner the out come of the crust on the dog. Overall I love this recipe and will use over and over again. THANKS!!!

Old Fashioned Onion Rings

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2008
These take a lot of time to make and are messy but if you don't over cook them they are WONDERFUL!!! I prefer not to buy onion rings from fast food joints now. I have also found that this recipe is ABSOLUTLY PERFECT for chicken strips. Follow recipe as you would for the onion rings but you don't have to let the batter drip just dip in wet mixture and then bread and throw into a 335 degree fryer. Cooking time really depends on size of chicken though. Either way this is a recipe I will be using from now on!! THANKS

Crispy Chocolate Log

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2008
I have made this a couple times and its really GOOD!! There are two ways I make them. 1. how the instructions tell you to. 2. using a 9x13 pan with the chocolate and butterscotch on top. Let cool and enjoy. I get many more complements when its rolled though ;). Also when making the chocolate and butterscotch mix I added 2TBSp butter and 2 Tbsp milk. It made the mixture creamier and easier to spread out. Great recipe Thanks!!!!

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2007
GREAT RECIPE. I used a crust recipe off of this site ( Worlds best pie crust) and it was very light and flaky. To complement it I cut my apples very thinly so that they blended well together with each bite. I also added a very healthy teaspoon of Cinnamon and 1/2 healthy teaspoon of nutmeg. Followed other advice of only doing 3 TBSP of water and 1 TBSP of Vanilla. THANK YOU FOR THE RECIPE will use over and over again!!!

Spiced Pumpkin Seeds

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2007
Good Recipe!!! But changed a few things. Instead of just salt I used seasoning salt and more garlic then what it calls for. Also added 1/8 tsp Onion powder. I would suggest that if baking them streight from the pumpkin (cleaned) prepare to bake for an hour and a half to two hours (ovens work differently). If you dry them over night then should only take an hour. Will use this recipe again, Thanks!!!!

Tomato Soup I

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2007
I followed the directions and it came out great. Changed a couple things to add just a little bit more flavor. Used Italian Diced tomatoes and added some crushed hot peppers (didn't add how much to put in for some people it could be to hot and others not enough, add to what you feel is right) to the mix and then let it simmer for an hour. The peppers add a nice little kick to it. After the hour I threw it all into a blender and added the cream the way the directions state. It came out nice and creamy. My husband refuses to eat canned tomato soup. Thanks for the wonderful Recipe!!!
