Jalapeno Hummus

This was very good! I did not have the tahini, but it tasted great without it. I will definitely be making this again, but I may add a few less peppers next time, as it was a bit too hot for me!

Applesauce

My 7 year old just made this, and it and it's delicious! We only added about 1/2 cup of sugar, and we DID NOT PEEL THE APPLES!! I used my blender to puree the cooked apples, and it's super smooth. Leaving the skin on didn't affect the texture at all, and it left in all the great vitamins!

Cinnamon-Sugar Popcorn

Adjust the amount of unpopped popcorn to 1/2 cup, or make double the amount of syrup since the recipe does not yeild enough syrup to cover the amount of popcorn given. Also, add 2 Tbs water to sugar/butter mixture while boiling to help the sugar dissolve. Cook the syrup to the soft-ball stage and then cook another 2 minutes stirring often. I also added a large amount (2 Tbs) of cinnamon since I LOVE cinnamon, but this is optional. This popcorn tastes amazing, but because the directions are unclear and the amounts are not accurate, I only gave it a 4. With the adjustments above, it's a 5+.

Sauceless Garden Lasagna

I love the veggies in this! I cut back on the cheese and oil to cut down on fat and calories, and I added just a small amount of spaghetti sauce. This was yummy!

New York Style Pizza

This was tatsy, but my crust was more bread-like, not thin and chewy like New York style pizza. It was quick and easy to make, just not what I was looking for.

Peach Angel Food Cake

This was so easy and sooo good! Make sure you use peaches in juice, not syrup, otherwise the cake will be sticky and too sweet, and I'm pretty sure angel food cake is the only kind that will work with this method since other types need egg. Be sure to cook the angel food cake completely. My first attempt was undercooked, and cake fell. This really is a great, quick, and easy recipe!

Peppermint Meringues

These were awesome! I used Spenda instead of sugar to help avoid some calories. Some are posting that this recipe will not set correctly with Splenda, but I have used it several times and it works perfectly. Make sure the egg whites are at room temperature and the bowl (must be glass) and beaters are absolutely clean. Any remnant of egg yolk will also hurt the recipe. Hope this helps.

Blueberry Cheesecake Ice Cream

I was excited to make this recipe after reading all the great reviews. It was very easy to make and overall, it tasted great, but it was wayyy too sweet for our taste. I have to admit that I used a larger pudding box, 5.2 oz, since that's all I could find, but I added 2 additonal cups of milk to make up for the extra pudding. I also cut back the sugar in the icecream mixture to 1 cup, but it was still very sweet. My kids even found this to be way too rich and sweet. Also, it says to fill the ice cream freezer 2/3 full and to freeze the rest, but this whole recipe only fill my freezer to just under 1/2 full. I didnt think my freezer is larger than average, but maybe it is??? I will definitely try this again since the overall taste was good, but I think I'll leave the pudding out completely.

These were good, but not good enough to justify adding 1/2 cup of butter! I dont think I'll make them again. I prefer using egg whites and seasoned bread crumbs with no added fat.
