Black Bean and Corn Salad

Reviewed: May 17, 2007
This was great! Everyone loved it. I did add the cilantro as suggested, and I also used pepperjack cheese. We liked the extra spice.

Perfect recipe for my CSA beets! I had left over dressing and used it on salad the next day.

Caramelized Turnips

Reviewed: Jun. 22, 2010
This is an excellent recipe. I didn't know what to do with my CSA turnips and decided on this one after reading the reviews. I used chicken broth instead of water & bouillion. I had more turnips so I used a full can of broth. I added onions as suggested. Next time I may try the brown sugar or honey, but it was excellent as it is.

Green and Red Tomato and Corn Soup

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2010
Very good! We had an abundance of both fresh red and green tomatoes. I added a few things as was suggested by previous reviews. Used 3 cloves of garlic, 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce,1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes & fresh basil to taste.

Crawfish Etouffee II

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2011
Bland, but has potential. I will try again and add cayenne and more cajun seasoning. This is worth a re-do because of my gluten allergy, I really miss Etouffee.

Different but good. Needed some kind of dipping sauce. We added shredded carrots, and bean sprouts.

Ground Beef 'Wellington' with Fennel

Reviewed: Jun. 18, 2010
I have mixed feelings about this. The bites with fennel/onion were good, but without it was very bland. I mixed it really good but still did not have a consistent flavor. If I try again I will either use less beef or more fennel/onion/garlic/crushed red pepper. I used the lower fat crescent rolls and they worked well. Will try again.

My family did not enjoy this at all. Very dissapointing considering how high it was rated.
