Red and Green Christmas Jalapeno Jelly

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2007
Absolutely fabulous recipe. My father-in-law accepts it as payment for plowing the driveway in the winter! Make sure to chop peppers very finely and flip the jars to evenly distribute the peppers. This is truly a great recipe, even people who wrinkled their noses at the idea of pepper jelly loved it when they tried it!

Candy Apple Jelly

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2007
Very quick, easy and BEAUTIFUL jelly recipe. The color is very Christmas. The jelly is very sweet but tastes great on hearty wheat toast. Hubby likes it spread in Triscuits!

Boilermaker Tailgate Chili

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2010
Great Chili! Usually when I make a recipe and rate it, I make it exactly as written. I cheated this time and used a crockpot instead of a stovetop simmer. Cooked on high for 2 hours and switched to low for 4 more hours. It filled the 6 quart crockpot to the brim! Plenty of leftovers, but not for lack of eating. Next time I will halve the recipe and not change anything - except skip the Fritos...they are unnecessary.

Buffalo Chicken Dip

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2010
The flavor of the dip is fantastic, but the visual effect of the oils from the cheddar is stomach turning. I had to sop the oil off with paper towels. Honestly, the cheddar didn't seem to add to the flavor, so I think I will skip it next time.

Italian Spaghetti Sauce with Meatballs

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2010
This is a great starter recipe for quick spaghetti and meatballs. If you have the time though, I would suggest a more complex recipe as the flavors are much better. Also, the meatballs taste a bit like those prepackaged meatballs so you could probably save the time there and buy those. The only change I would suggest is to add 2 cans of tomato paste because the first time I made this it was very watery. I also add spices and garlic to my taste and would suggest you do the same!

Tuna Noodle Casserole from Scratch

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2011
My family liked this a lot, but even my teenager said it needed more veggies. Everyone agreed it needed more Tuna. I think it could be lightened up on fat and salt easily.

Neat Sloppy Joes

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2010
This recipe should be called "Sweet Joes". There is way too much sugar in this recipe for it to be anything but sweet. This is not anything like sloppy Joes. I would have given it one star, but my 15 month old liked it. I think this would be a great recipe for young kids only.
