Asparagus Cashew Rice Pilaf

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2006
This is so dilicious- Ive been telling all my family and friends about it and they love it too. Made without asparagus and it was still great. Cant wait to make it again. It does absorbe the liquid very quickly so it helps to use a smaller pan so the rice can cook.

Brown Sugar Meatloaf

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2006
This is so good! The brown sugar and ketchup go so well and the ginger gives it such a subtle unique taste. It definately replaces my old meatloat recipe. My husband says that with some mushrooms it will be absolutely perfect.

Red-Skinned Garlic Mashed Potatoes

these were really good but I did have to add some butter and garlic salt. I loved how creamy they were without using milk. Will make again. Love the roasted garlic

Better Than Sex Cake II

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2006
I made this cake twice thinking I had done something wrong the first time and I wasnt thrilled with either one. It is a very moist chocolate cake but I was expecting to be able to taste the caramel mixture better. It just blends in and you cant really taste it at all, but it definately makes it moist. Everyone said it tasted great as a chocolate cake, but the most dominant taste is the toffee bar. I guess I was just expecting something more unique out of the recipe.

Sarge's EZ Pulled Pork BBQ

very bland-needed alot more seasoning. A different cut of meat would be better too.

Pat's Baked Beans

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2006
These are wonderful!! Such a great mixture of flavorings and beans. I did leave out the garbonzo beans as recommended by others and used more baked beans instead and they were perfect. Will be making many times in the future.

Bar Cookies from Cake Mix

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2006
This is my most used recipe. My favorite is yellow cake mix with white chips-soooo good. Chocolate cake mix with chocolate chips tastes like brownies. I use 4 to 5 tbl of water and I find that 22 min is the perfect bake time for a somewhat chewy bar. So good.

Sugar Cookie Icing

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2006
This is exactely what I was looking for in that it was shiny and good color but I was dissapointed with the flavor. I like a more flavorful buttercream type icing on my cookies, but if you are after good decorating quality this would be it.

Blackberry Pie I

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2006
This is wonderful. I had to double the berries to fill my 9" pie plate and I did use half flour and half tapioca and the consistancy was PERFECT!! Not runny at all. I did use the milk on the crust but only about 2 teaspoons not tablespoons. Sprinkled with sugar and a little cinnamon and the cinnamon was a great compliment to the berries. I just loved it.

Basic Flaky Pie Crust

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2006
I cant get enough of this crust! It melts in your mouth. I did add about a tbl of sugar. The only thing that was unclear is that this recipe only makes enough for 1 crust so I had to do it twice to get a top crust. I cant wait to make another pie!!!

Asparagus with Parmesan Crust

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2006
This is the best Asparagus I have ever had. The balsamic vinegar adds such a unique taste- I was kind of leary of it but now I cant believe how wonderful it was. I also tossed in some sesame seeds when it was done cooking and that added a little nutty flavor that was a great compliment to the parmesan cheese. Will be making this alot in the future.

Chocolate Cheesecake I

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2006
I made this for my in-laws for Valentines day and my Mother in law is in cheese cake heaven. She cant quit talking about how good it is. It is so creamy, it just melts in your mouth. I did not have good quality chocolate and its still great so I cant wait to try it with better chocolate. The sour cream topping is great too.

What a great combination. The corn flakes are a perfect addition. For the coconut lover these are the ultimate coconut rush!! They are definately best on the day they are made, but they dont stick around very long anyway.
