Healthy Banana Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2014
I loved these! As I was mixing them up I could not stop picking at it. I did make 2 changes. Yes I did make them as listed above first. Since I needed to use up several bananas and is to hot to make bread. First change I did on the second batch was add peanut butter in place of oil and secondly I added 1tbsp. of cocoa and left out the dates. I will be making this again!

Wavy Lasagna with Meat Sauce, Fresh Ricotta and Spinach

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2014
This was really good but next time I do think I will use fresh spinach, and a couple of real thin mozzarella slices to one of the other layers as well. Yep we like things cheesy around here.

No Bake Cookies V

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2014
Turned out great! I know I use to off set my times because they would either never set or turn hard before I could even get them all on the parchment. Not these babies! For once I didn't have to start another batch to have one that was eatable.

Bar Stool Pretzels

These was great! I did these in 2 batches and made one slightly hotter. To make them crunchy without burning I cooled them then baked another 30 mins.

Momma's Sloppy Joes

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2014
This was good, I subbed Johnsonville ground sausage for the beef. I mixed the sauce in a bowl so I could give a honest review of it. I felt it to be slightly lacking in flavor. I only added sugar to taste which was about 2tsp. There is no way I would add 2tbps to this recipe it would be way to sweet so I recommend putting 2tbsp in a small bowl then adding 1tsp at a time till you like the sweetness level. I did realize a little to late I only have red wine vinegar I do think that added to the flavor. I also added some onion when browning the meat. when mixed all together and simmered for 30 min it had lots of flavor and had te family coming back for seconds. I had to keep a eye on the sauce and add a tbsp. at a time during the simmer to keep sauce thickness how we like it. I added a total of 1/4c water to get a sauce consistency that was not overly thick.

Amazing Muffin Cups

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2014
This was such a quick and easy breakfast that I really didn't think would have much flavor. I was so WRONG! I used southern style hash browns o brian style. (they are a dice cut and have the bell pepper and onion in them) These was so good I could not keep them around. I will be making these again and trying the maple Johnsonville sausage in them.

Ashley and Whitney's Popcorn and Pretzel Sweet Snack Mix

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2014
This was really good and would make again with half the amount of chocolate I think would be plenty! Mine had to much chocolate and made my popcorn start getting soft. I did have to use some coconut oil to thin the chocolate as it did not want to melt smoothly. The flavors was amazing. I did used crushed pretzels instead of whole pretzels. I also made a batch with a salted caramel pretzel bites that was out of this world! The combinations on this is endless! The 2 batches I made were gone before I knew it. This will be made again many times with many variations. Thanks for the wonderful recipe!

Karen's Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2014
I loved these cookies and that is saying something for a non sugar cookie lover. I admit I did not follow directions as listed. I did substitute vanilla bean paste for vanilla. I was out and did not want to go to the store. I did double the amount of vanilla because I wanted that extra bump of flavor! I creamed the butter and sugar till it was a very and I mean very light yellow almost white! This to me made a difference. I used all exact measurements other then the vanilla. The dough was crumbly at first. I took the dough out of the bowl and ran it in circles on the counter till it formed a nice ball with no crumbs falling off. Maybe about 1 min. I cut in to two smaller balls I flattened into a disk wrapped with plastic wrap and put into fridge for 20 min. When I took the first out to roll between the parchment it was easy, mess free. The cookies baked about 5-7 min. till they was just turning brown on the edges. I took them out and let cool. They puffed nicely did not spread much. They had a great vanilla, buttery flavor. About my baking time I always take my cookies out about 1-2 min before what is called for because like all things even cookies keep cooking even when they are removed from heat at first. This also helps me keep my cookies softer longer. I'm only giving it 4 stars due to my change of vanilla. Also mix the flour on low or fold in till incorporated. Don't over mix it!

Chicken and Broccoli Fettuccini Skillet Dinner

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2014
This was a wonderful and easy dish! I have always been so intimidated by making Alfredo sauce that I was worried I would screw it up. To my wonderful surprise it turned out so good everyone wanted seconds. Now in my book that is a recipe worth keeping! Only changes I made was I did not have half and half so I used the rest of my heavy cream. I do not use bouillon so instead of bouillon/water mix I use all chicken broth. Thanks for a wonderful recipe!

Pork Carnitas with Cilantro Tomatillo Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2014
This recipe for the meat itself was totally worth 5 stars but since I did not get to make the salsa I only give it 4. I used a blend of verde, avocado, sour cream, and lime juice as my topping. Tomatillos was just not available here right now. The only other thing I changed was the chipotle powder and could not find any at the local stores. Instead I used smoked paprika and it worked out lovely! This will be made again may times over in this house! Thanks for the great recipe!

Thanksgiving Leftovers Casserole

We LOVED this! I made as directed except for the veggies. We had green beans for thanksgiving with onion and bacon So I used that instead of the mixed veggies. My boyfriend even suggested that we make that again without waiting for Thanksgiving next year.

Chiliville Chili

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2013
The best chili I have had! No more buying chili seasoning packets. I did adjust the sausage & beef ratio to meet our preference. I used 1/2 sausage to 3/4 beef. Other then that I served on cornbread waffles. Enjoy!

Johnsonville® One-Pan Italian

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2013
This was so easy, I was expecting a clumpy mess of spaghetti... Man was I WRONG! This was so great I made mini meatballs with the ground sausage. I added nothing to the meat just made little balls and browned. Then added 2 1/2 cups water (I like my pasta andante), pasta, sauce and mushroom pieces and half a med. onion. This was so full of flavor I can see me making my spaghetti like this from now on. Totally worthy of 5 stars!!!!

Sea-and-Shore Bison Kabobs with Mediterranean Couscous Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2013
I really enjoyed the flavors in this recipe. The Bison sure did surprise me as I was nervous about how it would taste. This was very good all the way down to the couscous! Now I was not able to get fresh scallops and that was NOT a great idea to use frozen!! Most of the scallops almost seemed like they was going to fall apart. (yes a few did) They just did not have the texture that fresh has. I would go as far as saying when I make this again cause I will YUMM! I am going to try frozen shrimp if I can not get my hands on fresh next time. This is my third time trying out couscous and this recipe I am finding it so flavorful. Although I did leave out the Feta since I did forget that at the store. I say even if you are skeptical like I was do give this a try I don't think you will be disappointed!

Cumin-Rubbed Steaks with Avocado Salsa Verde

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2013
This was a wonderful recipe. The Avocado tastes wonderful with the cumin on the steak! Next time I make this I will try putting some cilantro on the steak when marinating them to give it another layer of flavor.
