Ruth's Grandma's Pie Crust

Reviewed: May 22, 2014
Sensational! Never used egg in crust before and this is now my all-time favorite recipe and will use it in the future! Was a little curious how it was going to work using a measured amount of water where as most other recipes have you add a little at a time until the consistency is right. To my surprise, this worked out perfectly with the right amount of moisture. Thank You!!

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: May 22, 2014
It was really easy to make and super tasty. I added sliced portabella mushrooms and it really made it spectacular. I didn't however, boil the veggies with the chicken and opted to sauté them all instead with a cover on the pot to steam the veggies until soft. Also used a homemade crust which is also on here and it was awesome with it! Thank You for sharing this recipe! I will make often!

Oatmeal Peanut Butter Bars

Reviewed: May 22, 2014
Really yummy and super easy! Love the chewiness of them. I have made it a couple times and each time I've changed the "add-ins" to the basic base because I didn't have the original recipe ingredients on hand. Dried sour cherries and almonds one time, dates and walnuts the other time. Very versatile to give different flavors. Love it! Thank You for sharing :o)

Blueberry Sour Cream Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2014
AWESOME! I did as many others have said and cut down the sugar to 1 1/2c and butter down to 1/2c and just added a couple more spoons of sour cream to make up for it. Also added probably 2c blueberries. I didn't do the middle layer so it wasn't too sweet and just did the coffee cake itself. Will definitely make often!! Totally moist and delicious!

Buttermilk Strawberry Shortcake

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2014
This is THE BEST shortcake recipe I've ever had! I was impressed with the light, fluffy texture which is amazing because I tend to like the dense shortcakes. This simply melts in your mouth. I baked them on the rack above middle to keep the bottoms of the shortcakes from browning too much. I also liked measuring out the dough as the 1/3c seems to be a perfect portion. I ended up having to add more buttermilk, but that is probably due to climate. I also just brushed with buttermilk since I already had it out. As for the berries, I did blackberry-strawberry since these needed to be eaten soon. I also added some opened champagne to the berries and let sit overnight. It helped give more juice and and incredible flavor. THANKS for the recipe!!!

Creamy Rice Pudding

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2014
It was incredible! I used sticky rice made from our rice cooker and purposefully made extra rice just for this. I didn't have raisins but used chopped dried cherries and it was the best rice pudding I've ever had! Not too sweet, perfectly thick. Also sprinkled with cinnamon and nutmeg like others have mentioned as well. Definitely worth the little bit of stirring while it thickens and will make this every time I make rice.
