About this Cook
I love cooking. I don't have kids so 50% of my free time I spend in the kitchen cooking, baking or cleaning afterwards ;)I love to travel and then recreating the delicacies I ate abroad. Especially I love to rediscover desserts.
My favorite things to cook
Desserts in general but I just love baking! Currently I'm discovering American baking techniques and recipes, and believe me they are delicious though a bit too sweet for me.
My favorite family cooking traditions
X-mas time is always special for us and we have several traditional dishes that we prepare only for X-mas eve. They're so time consuming that we don't bother during the rest of year even to attempt anything similar.
My cooking triumphs
Viener Apfel Strudel! I made one totally from scratch with the original technique. My living room was a mess(I had to use the big dinner table) but it was worth it!
My cooking tragedies
I tried to make a New York cheesecake and because we don't have cream cheese here I used something I though was similar. It wasn't. The whole thing was a disaster. It never set and I had to throw away everything.

Cinnamon Biscotti with Pistachios
I never made biscotti so it was great to try something new. I found the recipe quite easy to follow. Unfortunately I didn't have the cinnamon chips, so I added 1 more cinnamon spoon to the mixture. It turned out great. Two pieces crumbled a bit while I cut them, but otherwise they turned out great!

Amazing Ginger Snaps
I made them again but this time with 1/2 cup of melted butter and 1/2 cup of white sugar. First time I tried this recipe they turned out too sweet to my palate and due to the canola oil - very greasy. They're perfect this time. Thanks for sharing.
