About this Cook
I enjoy homemade meals that are quick, easy, and economical. Love shopping at local farmer's markets for fresh produce. Living in Hawaii allows me to experience many different cuisines and cultures, I'll eat just about anything...
My favorite things to cook
Hearty meals that look time consuming but take minimal effort. I love good food that looks beautiful, tastes great, costs little, and is kind to my waistline.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Spam fried in maple syrup. Uncooked Vienna sausage with shoyu. Fresh hand fried andagi (Okinawan donut). Cooking rice for every meal...

To Die For Blueberry Muffins
I make these once a week. I'm lazy so I just use one bowl for everything. I also don't add the crumble, makes it a wee bit healthier. Double the recipe. It makes 24 regular sized muffins. I bake for 19-22 minutes and they're perfect. My husband eats two a day!!!

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings
So easy!!! I literally throw four frozen, boneless, skinless chicken breasts into the slow cooker, cover with 2 cans of condensed chicken soup, pat of butter, and pour chicken stock till it covers the chicken. DONE. If I'm feeling ambitious, I'll dice up a onion and throw it in too. The dumplings couldn't be more simple. Open the container, tear off bits, and plop it in. ALL DONE!!!

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie
This is THE BEST chocolate chip cookie recipe EVER! Now, whenever I eat other people's homemade chocolate chip cookies (or any cookies from ANYWHERE) I'm like, "Meh". When you mix the butter and sugar, it does seem very "wet". This is normal. Also, when the chocolate chips are added in, it seems like A LOT, but trust in the recipe... it works. Be sure to remove as soon as the edges brown. Follow the directions and you will be completely satisfied. YUMMO!!!
