Juiciest Hamburgers Ever

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2010
These were pretty good. I always make the recipe exactly as written before adding a review so that it will reflect the actual recipe. Having said that... I didn't find them all that juicy. The burgers I usually make are much juicier than this, but the flavour was pretty good. I think there was far too much garlic. Once clove would have been plenty. Next time I would omit the breadcrumbs to make them juicier and go light on the garlic.

Caesar Salad Supreme

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2008
Very nice. I also omitted the anchovies and used only 3 cloves of garlic and added an extra tbsp. of lemon juice. Probably the best Caesar salad I have had in a very long time.

Spicy Glazed Pecans

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2008
These were wonderful! Very easy to make and a hit with everyone. I only used 1/4 tsp. of cayenne (it still had a kick) and 1/2 tsp. of salt for that salty/sweet flavour. They were great added to a salad of mixed baby greens, blue cheese, strawberries and raspberry vinaigrette. They are also perfect as a snack with your favourite cold drink.Very crunchy & fresh!

Mulligatawny Soup I

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2008
Wonderful! A tasty, comforting soup for the dog days of winter. I made it for guests and they said I should market it. I didn't use the chicken meat or rice and used 2 tbsp. of flour instead of 1 & 1/2 and ALL of the cream. Plus I finished it with a drizzel of extra virgin olive oil and it turned out hearty and delicous. I served it with cheese scones as a meal and everyone was satisfied enough and had just a smidgen of room for dessert.

Baklava

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2007
Wonderful! I've made this recipe at least 5 times now, tweaking it here and there. I find that using a mixture of ground pecans, walnuts and almonds works best (all of one nut seems too potent). I also only used 3/4 of the sauce and find that it is more than enough. Everyone who has tried it loves it!

Split Pea and Ham Soup I

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2007
I had already made a stock with leftover hambone and was looking for a recipe to use it in. This was perfect. I sauted the onions in olive oil and a little butter, then added the ham stock and split peas. It takes several hours to get a non-lumpy, creamy consistency, but the flavour is completely worth the extra time. Start making it around mid-day for evening supper. Simple and delicious!

Easy Cheesy Cream of Broccoli Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2007
I agree with CT-Gourmet that this may be easy, but it still has the "canned/processed" taste. It would be even easier to buy Campbells cream of broccol & cheese and still get a similar taste. I'll stick with my from scratch broccoli cheese soup...still relatively easy but uniquely scrumptious.

Absolutely the Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2006
It was "ok". I also think they were a little cakey and not the traditional crispy outside, chewy inside that I get with my favorite recipe. They also didn't have that traditional chocolate-chip cookie flavor because of the milk chocolate chips. I stuck to the recipe exactly and half of the cookies were left uneaten which NEVER happens with my cookies. Still...if you like "milk chocolate" chips, this is a good recipe to try.
