Bilo Walter's Easy Herb Potatoes

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2005
I was disappointed with this recipe. It was pretty bland. The OVEN ROASTED POTATOES by Janet are worlds better.

Roast Sticky Chicken-Rotisserie Style

Reviewed: Jun. 12, 2005
This was so good and easy. It looked a bit dry on the outside when done, but it was actually very juicy. I only did one bird which was 4 1/2 lbs. It only took 4 hours. I'm not sure when doing two birds if it actually takes 5 hours, however I'm not sure how I would fit them both in the oven.

Linguine with Mushrooms & Ham

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2005
Very good. I did add 1 cup peas and 1/4 cup parmesan cheese as previously suggested. It was a little dry. So next time I would increase the whipping cream to 2 cups and/or decrease the amount of cheese.

One Bowl Rice

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2005
Such a delightful dish. Easy to make. Good flavor. I had it in the oven with meatloaf and it took 1 hour to evaporate the liquid.

Penne Pasta with Veggies

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2005
This dish is excellent. I did make some alterations with ingredients. Since I'm not fond of broccoli I added 1 cup of each onions and mushrooms. Instead of the sun-dried tomatoes I used fresh grape tomatoes. These being of small size there was no need to chop. Then I used bacon instead of the prosciutto. I browned it first leaving the drippings. Then I added the tomatoes and butter which I decreased to 1/2 cup. This dish is a treat to the taste buds along with the nose.

Salisbury Steak

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2005
Very good. Sauce is rich, full bodied with great color. While cooking I could identify the smell of dry mustard, not my favorite. I would leave it out next time. Doubling the sauce is required for use over potatoes or rice. While cooking I periodically turned the patties and spooned the sauce over which adhered nicely giving them extra flavor.

Oh my, how delightfully good. Quite the nice variety of flavors. Very moist and not too sweet.

Rhubarb Bread I

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2005
This is very good, but just a bit too sweet. Next time I'll add more rhubarb. The temperature and baking time didn't work for me. Other quick bread recipes I have call for 350 degrees for 60-70 minutes. I'll go that route with future attempts.

Garlic Pasta

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2005
Like a lot of others I thought I screwed up the recipe. Way too much Italian seasoning. The flavor was bad along with the texture which was similar to sawdust. I was so looking foward to the garlic, but somewhere along the line it disappeared. No garlic flavor at all.

Cheddar Bay Biscuits

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2005
These were so good and extremely easy to make. Just as good as Red Lobster's, if not better. I only used one sheet pan which held 15 large biscuits. To make the smaller ones I'd need to use two pans. No one's complaining about the larger version. Definitely a make again recipe.

Fruity Bundt Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2005
Oh so good. Very moist. I didn't bother with processing the coconut. I just added it along with the fruit and nuts. This is a definite make again recipe. I'm anxious to try it with other fruits such as mixed berries, nectarines or cherries.

Herbed Green Bean Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2005
Ick! I love green beans, but this recipe was such the disappointment. You would have thought the combination of ingredients would be a winner, but not this time. My husband and I could not even finish what was on our plates.

Cajun Style Meatloaf

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2005
I'm always looking for a new take on one of my favorites, meatloaf. This did not let me down. Lots of flavor. Just a bit too spicy for my family but I'll just decrease the hot sauce and/or cayenne next time around.

Zucchini Chocolate Rum Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2005
The zucchini does make this a very moist cake. It is very tasty as chocolate cakes go. The rum in the cake itself is pretty much undetectible, but in the glaze it is overpowering. Next time I would skip the glaze and just dust with powdered sugar.

Oven Roasted Potatoes

I tossed in whatever fresh vegetables I had in the refrigerator. This was such a hit. My husband and I are already talking of when I'll make it again. Yum, yum.
