About this Cook
I like to make good, midwestern comfort food. Something that makes everyone want to eat even if they are already full. And I always like to make Mom proud.
My favorite things to cook
I like to bake cookies and use what my summer garden produces.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My Grandma was half Danish/Swedish and my Grandpa was Swedish, and they have exposed our family to traditional holiday dishes when I was little, and have passed a few favorites down to me, such as Aebleskiver and spritz cookies.
My cooking triumphs
I took on an entire-from-scratch recipe for a four layered (fresh from the garden) raspberry cake with homemade buttercream frosting. Also, I made homemade marshmallow fluff which is so time consuming because it takes like 15 minutes to whip & form!
My cooking tragedies
I received one of those Betty Crocker Bake-N-Fill cake dome pan sets, and decided to try it the first time with a pudding center. Well, the pudding would not set and it made all of it all mushy and it was so unappetizing for me, I threw it out.And then I gave my Mom the pan and told her that i couldn't use it, she lost the instructions and couldn't seem to find the recipes online either.

Greek Veggie Salad II
I was craving Greek food, so when I found this recipe, it sounded great! Not only did it hit the stop, it did 3 times! We had enough for pita and flat bread wraps, leftovers, and I even made more a few days later it was so good!

Soft Sugar Cookies IV
Ok, all I have to say about these cookies that they should be a secret family recipe---we loved them so much we would never want other people to know their simple secret. I even gave some to a culinary student and they thought they were excellent as well. I tried some flattened, but it was a no-go because it ruined the extraordinary fluffiness of the cookie. I also added some marachino cherry juice to some and used a sugar cookie frosting and they were a total die-for!
