Banana Crumb Muffins

I followed the recipe exact. The bread itself is 5 stars. Not a complaint. Next time, I might add some walnuts or pecans to the batter, just to give it an extra delicious touch. The crumbles get 2 stars from me. It is so dry and tastes like eating straight brown sugar. Next time, I will triple the butter, add 1/4c lightly pulsed oatmeal, and a pinch of salt. I think that should take some of the overpowering sugar taste and texture from the crumbles.

Bill's Sausage Gravy

The reason some of you are getting a floury tasting gravy, is because you aren't allowing the flour and grease (roux) to cook enough. The recipe says "until smooth." From personal experience, any kind of roux should be cooked until it resembles the texture of sand, (for white gravy, without allowing it to brown). If it starts to brown, add the milk immediately. If you do this, it wont have a floury taste.

Clone of a Cinnabon

Wow! This recipe is delicious. I didn't have bread flour, so I used all purpose. I also used melted butter instead of margarine, as I cannot compel myself to keep that nasty stuff in my house. I didn't use a bread machine either. Everything else I followed to a T. It was SO light and fluffy, the inside was gooey and delicious. Next time, I will make about 1/2 of the sugar mixture, because I left a lot out, and still there is a bit too much sugar inside.

Buttery Soft Pretzels

This pretzel recipe was delicious. After making it though, I decided next time, I will brush with egg before salting then cooking. I really do love the shine and texture an egg coating gives pretzels.
