Orange Mango Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2013
This was very easy, fast and delicious! I used allspice instead of cinnamon as suggested in one review. I served it with rice and Mango Salsa also from this site.

Very unusual flavors. It was just okay. I won't make it again.

Peach Cobbler Dump Cake I

Reviewed: May 11, 2011
I took the advice of many reviewers... I used 3 cans of peaches (but only the juice of 2 cans), added a bit of brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla. I also loved the tip of freezing a stick of butter and then grating it over the cake mix. It was so yummy. I got a lot of compliments and requests for the recipe.

Caramelized Onion and Gorgonzola Pizza

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2011
This made a wonderful appetizer. I followed the advice of lots of reviewers and added a layer or mozzarella cheese and only used 1/2 of the recommended Gorgonzola. I liked the mozzarella, but I think I will add all of the Gorgonzola on top of the mozzarella next tiem.

Butternut Squash Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2010
I would have given this 5 stars if I based it on the soup after I made the recommended changes. It was a very tasty soup. I roasted the squash (350 for 45 minutes), added a bit of garlic and only used 1 block of fat-free cream cheese. So good!

Cheesy Sausage Zucchini Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2009
My family loved this. I made a few changes... turkey sausage instead of pork and canned tomatoes (drained) instead of fresh I also used cooked pasta instead of rice and reduced to cooking time to about 35-40 minutes. Yummy! And yes... I used Velvetta and it was so creamy and tasty and I'm not a Velvetta fan!

Classic Macaroni Salad

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2009
I followed reviewers advice and used mayo and a lot less sugar. It turned out great. I have made this a few times and it is always gobbled up.

Peanut Butter Noodles

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2009
Everyone loved this. I didn't have the chili paste when I made it and it was still yummy. I am making it again today with the hot chili (but all I could find was the oil, not the paste.) Hopefully it will turn out okay.

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2009
This was total comfort food! It's not meant to be gourmet - this was total comfort food! I followed the suggestions and used chicken broth instead of water. I also added a touch of garlic powder and a good sprinkling of sage. I put the biscuits (Grands) in the slow cooker about 1 1/2 hours before we were ready to eat. Everyone (even the teenagers) loved this dinner.

Easy and Elegant Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2008
This was a nice, moist pork recipe. I coated the pork with a bit of "hearty" mustard. I also added garlic powder and seasoned salt to the bread crumbs as suggested. Everyone loved it and gave it 4 stars!

Jackie's Sausage Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2007
I have made this several times for my family. Everyone loved it. I've used both pork and turkey sausage. I've also used both hot and sweet sausage. You just can't go wrong!! It is best served the next day.

Baked Macaroni and Cheese

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2005
My family loved this version of mac and cheese. I followed the recipe as written except that I used a 4-cheese mexican cheese blend. The only thing I would change is to make a double batch next time. Everyone wanted seconds!!

I thought this was good, but not great. Although several guests thought it was fabulous and had seconds and thirds.

Best Ever Corn Muffins

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2005
I make these every year with my kindergarten class. The recipe is simple and easy for children to do. The kids really like the sweetness and "cupcake-like" texture of the muffins. All of the kids wanted to take home a copy of the recipe!

Fig and Olive Tapenade

This was a huge hit!! I made it exactly as the recipe is written. I made it a day ahead to let the flavors meld. I also used plain old cream cheese instead of goat cheese. EVERYONE loved it!!

Chicken Biscuit Pie

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2005
This was a BIG hit at our house. The only change that I made was to use frozen green beans instead of peas, because that's what I had in the freezer. I made it a day ahead and put it in the refrigerator. It took a long time to cook (45 minutes??) since it was cold, but it was worth the wait!!

Mrs. Sigg's Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2004
I don't like peanut butter cookies, but everyone that had one thought they were fabulous! I used regular shortening because it is what I had on hand. I baked them for 11 minutes and left them on the cookie sheet as recommended. I didn't have any difficulty with the cookies getting mushed or breaking apart.

Best Marinara Sauce Yet

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2004
This was truly the best marinara sauce that I've ever tasted! I was surprised that the recipe called for white wine (I used a Pinot Grigio) but it was excellent. The only thing that I changed in the recipe was to add a bit of fresh chopped basil. I, too, refrigerated it overnight.
