Apple Cake I

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2010
YUM! As was suggested in the reviews, I replaced half the oil with applesauce, changed the sugar to 2/3 cup white and 2/3 cup brown, added a pinch of nutmeg, used 2 large apples, and topped it with streusel (1/4 c flour, 1/4 c sugar, 1 t cinn, 3 Tb butter) that I put on halfway through baking. I split the batter between 2 9" round pans. Perfect and YUM! Will make it again!

Cheese-Filled Coffee Cakes

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2010
WOW! WOW!! This was extraordinary! We made this for my Families christmas brunch and it was hard to believe that these werent bought at an expensive bakery. What is crazy is that they were SOOOO easy and fun! We did one rolled up as the the recipe instructs, one with rolled sides and rasberry jam, and two braided, one with jam and one with frozen blueberries from my mom's garden. The braided ones came out best. The cream cheese mixture is very generous - we had left over. They were fantastic. I will so be looking for a reason to make these again!

Sugar-Topped Applesauce Muffins

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2009
These are a new favorite around my house. I mix up the dry ingreds and then my daughter (8) can add the rest in the morning and then we scoop them into pans - NO liners. I brush teh tops with butter and sprinkle cinnamon and sugar on. If you arent going to eat them right away, I suggest NOT doing the butter/sugar topping - they get soggy in storage. Rewarm and add later.

Perfect Berry Shortcakes

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2009
these were so rich I could hardly stand it. Not sweet, very biscuit-ish, but very rich with strawberries on top. My husband still prefers sponge cake (YUCK) but these are divine!

Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2009
OH MY GOODNESS these are fantastic!! I have tried other pumpking choc chip cookies and they are so moist they dont taste cooked! These are cake-like - our favorite cookie style - and I make them year round. I like to freeze cookie dough - but beware, these take FOREVER to freeze. Probably bake them and then freeze the cookies instead.

Slow Cook Thai Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2006
NOt a favorite. Bummer since I took all the time in prep. The Peanut butter made it pasty and bland - needed more flavor. Won;t make it again.

Slow Cooker Pizza

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2006
Yum yum Yum!! The Fam raved about this one - I am trying to use my slow cooker more often cause it is easy!! This one took some time to prep, but it was great! I added olives, mushrooms, canadian bacon. I only used one pound of well drained sausage instead of hamburger - okay but better with more. Used Spaghetti sauce too - just fine. I did add 3/4 cup of water as others suggested - but the noodles got a little too soft so maybe not so much. Will definitely do again!!

Sour Cream Burgers

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2006
What a yummy burger!! I was looking for something different but still simple to do to hamburgers for camping and this is the new favorite!! Simple ingredients and a moist and flavorful burger!! No sauces needed! They freeze well but don't cook up quite as moist. I add a little extra sour cream if I am gonna freeze them.
