Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2010
Amazing potpie! Tastes like a professional made it! I put a little more chicken cause i don't like veggies in my pie. I did scrape some fresh corn kernels though. Next time I will make double the gravy and save it cause the next day it was a little dry. Other than that it was wonderful! Oh and if you add some Bell's seasoning, it gives it a nice flavor! Thanks for a great recipe.

Oven Pot Roast

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2009
Great roast! I used a 6 pound roast (if I'm going to go through the trouble, I'm going to make sure there are leftovers)...I too seasoned the flour with garlic powder and herbs before I seared the roast. I used two cans of Cream of Mushroom with Roasted Garlic because I love lots of gravy. I also used the entire envelope of onion soup. 1/4 cup of red wine instead of vermouth and a little water. I then added potatoes and baby carrots. Put in an oven bag at 325 degrees for 3 hours and it was beautiful!

Paul's Pumpkin Bars

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2009
I too followed the previous suggestions and ommitted an egg. It took forever to cook and it seemed like it wasn't completely done in the middle after 45 minutes. However, when I took it out and slathered it with cream cheese frosting which was delicious, it proved to be more promising! Everyone loved it and I brought it to work and the guys demanded I make it again!

Chinese Chicken Fried Rice II

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2009
Simply some of the best tasting fried rice! Two things you MUST do in order for it to work...use sesame oil and definitely use the rice cold. I cheat and throw it in the freezer! Also can chop up pork as well.

Cabbage Rolls II

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2009
Simply the best golumbki recipe! My polish boyfriend thought this was the best out of all the golumbkis that I have made! I tripled the recipe because we eat a lot of these. So I used about three pounds of hamburger and about four cabbages! I also used four cans of tomato sauce! We love this sauce, it is what makes the recipe. I parboiled the cabbage (messy but worth it) rolled them up and doublestacked them in a roasting pan. Put them in the oven on 350 for about 2 1/2 hours and they were wonderful. I really think the milk makes the filling really soft! Thanks for a great recipe!

Banana Banana Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2009
Very good banana flavor! Just be careful with the baking time especially if cooking with dark coated pans. (They tend to cook faster than other types) I cooked my bread for an hour and 10 minutes and the bottom was a little too dark for my liking but the middle was perfect. I did add nuts and cloves, nutmeg and cinnamon. Very good!

Honey Curried Roasted Chicken and Vegetables

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2009
I used two whole chickens and doubled the ingredients. I didn't cook any veggies beforehand, I cutup potatoes and carrots and put them on the bottom to roast with the chicken. It came out wonderful!! Will definitely be making this again. I believe the sauce would be good over other types of meat as well!

Slow Cooker Stuffing

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2008
I thought this recipe was extremely helpful that you can assemble the ingredients and throw it in the crockpot. The only downfall was that I had used herb-seasoned bread cubes so when I had added all the seasonings from the recipe to the bread, it came out extremely salty. I had to add more bread cubes and then use water not chicken stock to cut all the saltiness. That was my fault though! So just keep that in mind when using already seasoned bread! Other than that, the stuffing came out moist but not to moist at all. In fact, the stuffing that was on the bottom and sides of the crockpot was crispy. Loved it though!

All I can say is that I have never made collard greens but this recipe is "da bomb!" I made it exactly as it is written. The red pepper flakes give it that extra "oomph!" I love it!

Pumpkin Turkey Chili

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2008
I thought it was decent. You need to add a lot of spices to make it really good. However, I brought it to work and the one statement was, "This is not good." I say try it and then add your own spices. Oh and a can of beans and some corn really is needed for this recipe to work. I will make it again for myself, I think it is a personal taste.

Corn Chowder I

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2007
Wow, what a great recipe! My boyfriend requested corn chowder for his birhtday dinner and I haven't really made chowder before. Made a few adjustments, substituted two cups of milke for chicken broth, added three ears of fresh corn, two cans of creamed corn and two cans of corn niblets(What can I say, my man enjoys corn!) a little more potatoes. It is all how you like your chowder but the base recipe is great. I also sauteed freshly shucked clams in butter and added them to the end to make clam/corn chowder!!!

Baked French Toast

None left for me! Sooo good, don't know why this had some bad reviews. I have never had a problem fitting the bread in the pan. I did reduce the milk and eggs as well as a little less brown sugar in the topping but it is soo superb!!!!

Spicy Rapid Roast Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2007
Absolutely the BEST roast chicken! Make exactly as recipe states except you can add your own blend of spices and make sure to rub it under the skin and double the spices! The time and temp for the chicken is perfect for a 3.5 lb bird. I couldn't stop picking at the chicken. So moist! thank you for a great recipe.
