Jenny's Black Forest Cake

I love this recipe! It is not like other black forest cake recipes: no icing, no whipped cream. It is dark and rich and full of the smell of Kirschwasser! Very adult. You can always add ice cream or whipped cream on the side for those who want more sugar, but I think it is just great as is. A side note, I think the batter was kind of runny and so the cake was not quite done in the middle. Next time I am going to cut back on the coffee, maybe 1/4 to 1/2 c. less. But I don't think it hurt a thing in the long run!

Dad's Leftover Turkey Pot Pie

This is a great recipe! I only had one crust so I just used it for a top crust. I used half-and-half instead of milk. My family loved it! Thanks for sharing it!

Grilled Shrimp Tacos

Couldn't find the Dole salad, so just mixed Ranch Dressing w/ some salsa & added a dash of Pico Pica hot sauce. Sauteed the shrimp on the grill using one of those frying pans w/ holes (I hate threading skewers!) The smokiness of the grill w/ the lime juice & zest made for great shrimp. Thanks!

One for the Low-Carb Lifestyle

I see what happened. Someone complained about the 1600 gms of sodium in the bacon/blue cheese recipe, so you replaced it with the sage recipe. Please don't let the low-fat/low-sodium police ruin this site! I have been low-carb for 2 years now. My blood pressure, cholesterol, & liver numbers have gone down to a normal level and I have lost 30 lbs. I no longer crave sweets. Please let the low-carb recipes be what they are, or we lo-carbers will have to go to some other website. Thanks.

Blueberry Orange Bran Muffin

These were the best bran muffins I've ever made. Soaking the bran in the sour cream & milk must have really moistened up the batter so they were not dry like all other bran muffins I have made. I did have to add about 1/4 or 1/3 c. of flour to thicken the batter up a little; otherwise it was more like pancake batter. That's probably because I had just washed and drained the blueberries so they were very wet. But my family is raving about these and wants more. Thanks so much!
