Best Darn Minestrone Soup Around

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2012
I made the recipe exactly as shown, only I used half and half instead of cream. I admit the amount of garlic powder scared me, but it was just right. Also only made half of the entire recipe. Filled up my dutch oven. Very tasty, thanks for sharing!

Grandma's Gingersnap Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2011
I just took these little gems from the oven and popped one in my mouth.... scrumptious!!! Here are my changes: I used non-hydrogentated shortening, hand mixed everything, and I did not roll them in the cinnamon/sugar mixture. Perfection. Thanks for sharing the recipe!

Pork Chops German Style

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2010
My grandma used to make these, using chicken noodle soup, placing the noodles on top of the cooked chops. I withheld this recipe the first three years of my marriage because my husband hates porkchops, and one day decided to make them. This is my husband's favorite dish (besides lasagna). Also, I never equated this with being a German recipe, but I forgot my grandma was German!

Janet's Rich Banana Bread

Reviewed: May 11, 2010
ummmm..... Just ate a second piece. My picky three year old gobbled it up. I sliced the banana and it practically melted right into the batter, but I used very ripe bananas, throw-in-the-trash bananas. This "bread" seems more like a desert or a very unhealthy breakfast ( like doughnuts). I added a third banana and a bit more flour to make up for the consitency ratio. I'm usually not crazy about banana bread because it's kind of boring, but this makes you want to pour a glass of milk and indulge. Thinkin' to invite the madre over for some...

Kraft® Boston Cream Pie

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2010
This was very good. I used a cake mix and made two 9 in. round cakes, so this actually makes two cakes if you double the filling. I also put a tub of chocolated frosting in the microwave for 35 secs. and poured half on the top of each. It was a very sweet and delicious cake and sure to satisfy.

Italian Dressing Mix

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2009
Good stuff. I didn't have any Italian dressing on hand. I forgot to add the salt and only had celery leaves (not celery salt). After reading the reviews I guess I lucked out! Definately didn't need anymore salt. I think next time I'll make it in advance and give the herbs time to marry. I made it and used it right away. It was still good. Also, I used olive oil.

Watermelon Cooler Slushy

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2009
Oh, this is a good one! We had a watermelon that nobody was eating. I chopped it up, put it in the blender with some ice, blended it, added some bottled lime juice and sugar and....voila! The kids really liked it. I always wondered how watermelon juice was made. Thanks Olivia.

Baked Dijon Salmon

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2008
To the people saying ignore the bad ratings: I listened to you and tried this recipe. I'm sorry but it's really bland. Salmon, to me, is a really good fish that should be prepared in a really tasty manor. This was more like a breaded fish. I would use this recipe for trout, but not salmon. To anyone considering this recipe: It's okay if you're a chicken nugget and macaroni and cheese kind of person. If you have spent a lot of money on your fish, I would find a better recipe.

Banana Pudding IV

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2008
I would give this 10 stars if I could. This is absolutely the best out there. I took the suggestion from another reviewer and used pecan sandies. I crushed them, spread about two thirds in the pan, and sprinkled the rest on top. AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME

Frog Eye Salad

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2008
First, it's not fair to give a low rating and then say "I didn't follow the recipe". Second, I've been looking for this recipe for a long time and couldn't find it because I always thought it was tapioca beads in the salad, didn't know it was pasta! Thanks for sharing, can't wait to serve it at the halloween party.

Crunchy Freeze

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2006
I usually make a cake or cookies for dessert and thought I'd try something different. Never had tried anything with ice cream before. My husband loved it! Said it's the best dessert I've made yet. I made it just as the recipe said and served it with chocolate syrup. A+

This recipe is awesome. Before I tried it I could not cook meat worth a darn. Now I can brag about my barbecue brisket. I used Gates and Sons Barbecue sauce from Kansas City. Thank you so much for posting this recipe!
