AR to the rescue!

I have been a member of this community for almost five years, since my humble beginnings as a college student fending for herself.  In that five years I've outgrown my culinary infancy and I'm now a mom/spouse to two very hungry young men.  In fact, I've been told my 9 month old son will eat me out of house and home - and I can't wait for him to try.

Anyway, today, for the first time I have used several of the features this site offers.  Namely the Recipe Exchange (both asked and answered a question), the shopping list (handy little guy) and now this Blog!  I am having more fun on this site than I knew one could have and I just wanted to say thanks to a few people in my inaugural post.

1. everyone who responded to my question today
2. anyone who has ever posted a recipe
3. anyone who has ever reviewed a recipe

I can't wait to try out more of the features and to maybe get to know some people in the process!  Thanks guys!

How thoughtful of you to post your insights into AR. There are a lot of amazing gals (and guys) on here and Lord knows they are all worth their salt. It is truly a pleasure to watch the genius that comes from them. I am constantly amazed at their ability to make something good even better, come up with an original and offer heartfelt opinions and suggestions when you ask a question of them. I just love them and we're glad you're part of the team.

About Me
Living near the farmers market I love to cook with the fresh locally grown produce, meats and cheeses. I love to make everything from scratch and only occasionally use shortcuts. Making meal plans for a week is one way I keep myself sane. Helps me shop faster and stay away from the chips and candy! Also, knowing that I don't have to worry about what is for dinner lets me worry about everything else more effectively :)
My favorite things to cook
My favorite things to cook are anything that my family enjoys. Tasty and quick are priorities for me so I can spend more time with my family.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My favorite family tradition is the cook doesn't do dishes!
My cooking triumphs
I made a roasted chicken for my mother for Mother's Day. It was juicy and flavorful! And for father's day I asked my boyfriend if he could choose anything in the world to eat that day what would it be. It wasn't something at a restaurant, it was a dish I make for him all the time. He told me he loves it, I happily obliged and it came out the best I had ever made.
My cooking tragedies
Haven't had any of late, thank goodness!
