Gram's Persimmon Pudding

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2009
This was tasty, and although the "pudding" title was misleading, I did notice the amount of flour in the recipe, so I wasn't terribly surprised when it came out "cake". Still, good. Added nutmeg and cloves.

Chicken Fettuccini Alfredo

Reviewed: May 31, 2008
This was edible, but not very tasty. Just creamy and rich without being very flavorful... and I used a lot of seasoning, too. Won't make this again.

Barley Salad With Almonds And Apricots

Reviewed: May 28, 2008
This dish tasted fine, but wasn't anything too special. I suggest you halve the recipe when you first try it, because it makes quite a lot, and you may end up getting tired of it even if you're not the only one in the house interested in eating it (as I was).

Easiest Teriyaki Marinade Ever

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2008
I use this all the time, as does my husband. So simple and makes excellent chicken.

Pumpkin Mochi

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2008
This was fun and different. I wouldn't call it mochi though, it was basically just a cake. But good.

Roasted Root Vegetables With Apple Juice

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2008
I only roasted sweet potatoes; the glaze was very tasty and a little sticky.

Eggplant Supper Soup

Simple and suprisingly tasty, considering I don't like eggplant.

Creamy Vanilla Pudding

Reviewed: Jun. 13, 2007
This was not very thick; it was like a rich drink, almost like egg nog. It tasted fine.

Ginger-Spiced Cucumbers

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2007
A great way to dress up cucumbers. The recipe also works well using sake instead of mirin.

Spicy Mixed Nuts

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2007
Very tasty and easy! Just be sure to let them cool in one layer or else they will get all sticky and clumpy.

Ukrainian Red Borscht Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2007
This could be the most authentic thing in the world, but it stank up my house and nobody wanted to eat it.

Lemon Garlic Tilapia

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2007
Yummy fish! My husband thinks he hates fish but he liked this very much. It was very simple, also. Watch out for cooking times -- 15 was enough for the fillets I got.

Vegetarian Four Cheese Lasagna

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2007
This was a great base for a veggie lasagne. I departed from my mother's recipe for traditional lasagne to make this, and I don't think my household appreciated it... But at any rate, I made some changes to this recipe. I used canned pumpkin instead of fresh (two cans was too much!), and added cremini mushrooms and artichoke hears (because I had them in the pantry). I roasted the eggplant, mushrooms, and tomatoes together before adding them. I will have to chop the veggies up even smaller next time for it to be perfect. Great recipe!

Turkey Enchiladas

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2006
I don't know how you can fit all that turkey into corn tortillas! If I ever make this again, it will be enchilada pie style-- stacked up with layers like lasagne.

Alaskan Salmon Chowder

Yummy! Next time I'll use more salmon and more potates, and maybe I'll try cream/milk instead of evaporated milk.

Black Forest Dump Cake II

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2004
This is not a cake recipe. First I called it pudding, then I decided it was more like cherry crisp, except not crisp. The flavor is strange with the cake mix, and I had to mix it all together after cooking for it to taste okay. It does taste okay... but it is not cake.
