Quick and Easy Chicken Noodle Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2008
This recipe really is quick and easy. I made this for a sick friend who gave it 5 stars. I reduced the amount of chicken broth by 8 oz. and added a little cayenne pepper for a bit of kick. Thanks again for the easy recipe. No more canned soup!

Byrdhouse Marinated Tomatoes and Mushrooms

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2008
Sometimes simplicity is key. This was great. I used smaller home-grown tomatoes, but it's a great way to use up veggies.

Brown Rice and Black Bean Casserole

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2008
This recipe is easily affordable and adaptable and tasted great. I used shredded pork and mexican cheese blend (what I had on hand). The leftovers were a great filling for wraps too. Thanks!

Pepperoni Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2008
This was delicious! I can't believe the entire thing was eaten by two people! I used the shredded Italian cheese mix, sprinkled in a pinch of garlic power and added ricotta. I took the advice of other reviewers and used the refrigerated french roll. I also served this with the "best marinara sauce yet" recipe from this site.

Wendy's Quick Pasta and Lentils

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2008
I was really excited to try this, but i kept adding so many things to enhance the flavor. Maybe the lentil soup I used was too bland? I added chicken broth, balsamic vinegar and cumin. The end result was decent, but everyone continued to doctor their individual bowls before eating.

Mediterranean Stuffed Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2008
This was really good! I added prosciutto and fresh garlic to the cream cheese mixture. The chicken definitely took longer than 20 minutes, but I probably didn't pound them thin enough.

Creamy Buttermilk Dressing

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2008
I have never seen my guests eat salad so fast; they were fighting over second helpings. This dressing is so easy and tastes great. I accidentally added too much garlic, but it didn't even matter. Thank you!

Gazpacho

Reviewed: May 9, 2007
this was great! i used spicy tomato juice and cilantro as well (be careful not to add too much cilantro or it may have that "salsa" flavor). it's a great way to use summer vegetables.

Ann's Shrimp Etouffee

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2007
This was great! I didn't have any cayenne pepper and felt the only thing it needed was a little kick. Next time, I'll make sure I have some handy because I'm sure it's perfect with it added. I also added 2tbsp of tomato paste and added a rue to thicken at the end.

Burgundy Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2007
I had similiar complications as previous reviewers mentioned. Will use a meat thermometer next time because my pork was not done in 45 min (even letting it rest while making the sauce), and I also had too much wine to thicken the sauce with just one gravy packet. Will probably try searing it first and using 1 cup wine, 1 cup beef broth as suggested. Will make again because the pork was very tender and the sauce was great!

Braised Balsamic Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2007
This was very good! Next time I'll thicken the sauce a bit, but other than that it's great. I followed one reviewer's suggestion and used the left over sauce for pasta and it was tasty.

Maple-Garlic Marinated Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2007
I tried this marinade on boneless chops and followed other reviewers advice by adding a dash of soy sauce. I thought the marinade was great! Not too sweet at all. Definitely need to try it on the tenderloin because the only problem was that the chops were not as tender as I would have liked.

Pesto Polenta Lasagna

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2007
I'm pretty sure I used too much pesto (oops!) and the result was extremely oily. If using store bought pesto, be sure to mix well or even skim the oil off before using. This would have been great otherwise.

Steak Salad

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2007
I have made this salad several times now and it's become a household favorite. The dressing is delicious and best when chilled (I made once without chilling the dressing and the flavors didn't have a chance to combine). Wonderful!

French Beef Stew

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2007
Unfortunately, this recipe was not one of my favorites. I believe amount of mustard detracted from the taste rather than enhancing all the traditional stew flavors. I may give this another shot using the slow cooker and paring down the mustard.

Herbed Chicken and Fettuccini

I agree with other reviews that the outcome was slightly bland as I followed the exact recipe without tweaking. My end result was also too heavy with cream cheese.

This was really good and juicy. I just substituted garlic powder for the garlic salt and it recipe's salt content was fine. Will definitely make again.

Spinach Potatoes

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2006
These were a success, everyone loved them. For those who have not tried the recipe yet, follow the amounts listed. I was improvising a little and the result was too much spinach, but that was my own fault.

Wow, my Italian boyfriend was impressed and said this was better than our favorite restaurant's sauce. I followed the recipe as is and it came out delicious. Thank you!
