Well have finally made it back from Asheville, and brought home Buster new brother Hank.  They have played together all weekend and on the ride home they both slept the entire trip.
Hank is now thrown into another new place and is running all over the house checking out his new home.  Buster has taught him that he can go out back anytime he wants to through the doggie door and that seems to be his favorite thing to do right now.  In and out, In and out.
I do believe that he will fit in, and it does appear that Buster his glad to have another dog to play with.
I forgot to mention that Hank is also a minature dachshund, but his a wire haired rather than a long haired like Buster.
Well it is back to the grind, and hopefully Hank is as well housebroken as the rescue people have lead us to believe.

They are both too cute! I miss having a dog. Love my kitties, and one actually acts like a dog, but you know...

How very nice Ed. Both are nice looking dogs, so glad they get along. I have a black lab named Molly, we live in the country and she has lots of room to run. Thanks for sharing.

I have friends who have had long-hair dachshunds for many years. Their last two are miniatures, and just sweet, sweet dogs. It used to be rare that I'd see long hairs, but it must be a breed that is gaining in popularity because I see them often these days. Glad to hear that Buster and Hank are now buddies.

Thanks to all for responding. Day 3 they are still best buddies and Hank is definitely not the Alpha dog in the house but he is the cuddle buddy which gets to both Lisa and I. Last night, Hank cuddled up with me and Buster stayed on Mom's side with Lisa. Looking forward to some great adventures.
