Well, to get started, think I should tell a little about myself. I am married, very happily, and live in the Metro Atlanta area. I have three children who are all grown and gainfully employed, two as chef's and one as a police officer.
I have always enjoyed cooking since I was little and would watch my mother cook these amazing meals, everyday, and enjoyed that time in my life where you could leave the house in the morning and be home for dinner when the shipyard horn went off. Later
in life I became a police officer and later became an arson investigator which lead me to a career with a large insurance company as a special investigator concentrating at first on fires and fraud.
After retiring, I sat around for awhile, and decided I needed something to do to use the old brain so I learned to fly and purchased a small plane. Currently not flying, because of not obtaining a medical certification, but plan on getting back into to
that because a plane is too expensive just to sit and not be used.
I and the two chef son's have opened a restaurant in Asheville, NC, (Cucina24) and it has been open for almost six years now. It started off very slow, happened to open when the economy when in the toilet, but through a lot of hard work and some really
good food from both of the son's, it is doing well and starting to make money and pay off debt. It you think owning a restaurant is in your future, believe me when I say that without the right people, a lot of hard work, and time, you are in for a real struggle.
I have been fortunate in that area.
I have used MasterCook for years and really do love that program, but because of technology and moving forward, have begun to you Mac products and until the MasterCook 14 there was no way to share things.
I have been getting emails from Allrecipes.com for awhile and last week decided to give it a six month try. As the add said, should have signed up for longer and saved the money because I really like the easy way to do the things that I do, especially
since I have my Mac in the kitchen and just recently inherited a IPad.
OK enough about me, which I really do hate to talk about, and on to a new adventure. Looking forward to losing some weight, getting my medical back, and storing a lot of good recipes here.
