About this Cook
I'm a grad student (francophone literature) who's trying to finish writing her thesis while working part-time as a french teacher. I recently got married and (lucky for my husband) discovered that I love cooking!
My favorite things to cook
I love comfort food! Baking pies, decorating cookies, hot drinks, baking a whole chicken (it smells so good in the house!) My husband is Tunisian so I also cook (very spicy) tunisian food from time to time.
My cooking tragedies
Well, there are many... When my husband came over to my home to meet my parents, I decided to cook a meal that would impress him... I ended up burning the rice, destroying a sauce pan and I almost set the kitchen on fire. Once, I made a delicious blueberry pudding... I left it on the stove, forgetting to turn off the oven, to cool off a little. I went back to the living room, where my mother commented how good it smelled and how she couldn't wait to eat it... Then we heard BANG! Turns out, you should never leave something on the stove when the oven is turned on... My pyrex exploded.. As well as my delicious blueberry pudding that was in it. I was in for a thorough clean up of the kitchen.... Luckily, no one got hurt!

French Bread
If by french bread you mean baguette then I'm sorry but this is not baguette. The crust is... Not a crust! Way too soft. Won't make that again.

Spicy Spanish-Style Rice
Delicious! This recipe is called spanish STYLE so it's inspired by spanish rice but a bit different. Don't judge the recipe based on you not being able to read the title geez... This was awesome! I served it with sour cream and paprika chicken. Thanks again Chef John!

Sour Cream Chicken Paprika
Delicious! I cut the chicken broth in half and added dried hot pepper flakes. It was really good on a bed of chef john's spanish rice! Thank you!
