About this Cook
I mostly garden in the summer. Winter time is my time to really cook. I love learning about new dishes. My husband and I have two grown daughters and two lovely granddaughters. I also love skin care, jewelry and helping others. We love to travel when possible and are avid movie buffs.
My favorite things to cook
I especially love Italian food. Just recently have been learning new baking skills with fresh baked bread with my new Kitchenaid mixer... new pasta attachments are on the way..Yeah! Soups are a passion with me and I consider myself an expert in this arena. Love to learn new things.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Soups, Abruzzi, Gazpacho, and our familys' version of Goulash.
My cooking triumphs
Most recently my homemade French bread from scratch.. no breadmaker; even though I own one.

Peanut Butter and Pumpkin Dog Treats
Our Westie's loved these treats. We tried them too and thought they tasted a bit bland. Remember I said our dogs loved them. Next time, I will add more peanut butter and pumpkin. Thanks for the recipe. It's a keeper.

Mid-Eastern Chicken Thighs
This was excellent. I took the advice of the author of this recipe and added more garam masala and curry powder. I thought it would be too spicy; but NO. Just right! Thanks for the recipe. Simple and delicious.

One-Dish Chicken, Vegetable and Rice Bake
This was delicious. I did use fresh veggies, like broccoli, carrots, and celery. I seasoned the chicken with poultry seasoning and the paprika. Because, I used fresh veggies - I used two cans of cream of chicken soup. Also substituted the water for chicken broth.
