Sour Cream Sugar Cookies IV

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2005
I love this recipe! I use 4 cups of flour, instead of 5 to give them a bit more of a chewy texture. Sometimes I add 1/4 cup of lemon juice to give them a kick!

Lemon Lush Pie

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2005
YUM! I was pleased with my results! I did as the other reviewers suggested and cut back the milk to 3/4 cup (I used half and half) and increased the lemon juice to 1/2 cup. My pie set up nicely and was delicious! It is really good in a graham cracker crust!

Easy Cheesy Chicken Bake

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2011
We really enjoyed this! I used two cans of cheese soup, 4 cans of milk instead of water, chicken tenderloins and one and a half large potatoes, sliced thin. I did as the others stated and microwaved the potatoes for about 5 minutes and then I put it all in a deep dish pan and simmered for half an hour. It came out great and the husband even picked the remaining few pieces from the pan with a fork!

Double Chocolate Pie

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2005
Pretty good! I made this for my dad who insists on from scratch instead of a pudding mix (and he can always tell the difference!) and this passed the test--he said it was the best he has had in years!

Honey's Butter Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2005
pretty good cake! I was expecting a dense pound cake but this was more like a really moist, delicious coffee cake. Either way, we were pleased with the taste!

Cookie Balls

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2005
This is really an impressive recipe considering the ingredients! They are more of a truffle than a cookie but really good and rich--I made some as called for with oreos and white bark, and another batch with peanut butter sandwich cookies and peanut butter chips--just as good!! Be sure to chill before dipping and WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT PUT THEM ON A WIRE RACK TO AVOID A HEEL AS THEY WILL STICK TO IT AFTER COOLING!!!!

Gooey Butter Cake I

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2005
I was a little disappointed in this recipe. By the time the top had set the cake had dried out. The taste wasn't too terrible but it was such an ugly dessert that I certainly wouldn't want to serve it to guests.

Chocolate Cherry Cake III

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2005
I made the cake and icing according to the directions but when I poured the icing on the cake it absorbed into the cake instead of sitting on top of it as expected which made it a mushy goo.

Best Ever Muffins

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2005
This recipe is meant to be a base for a muffin that you create. I added fresh blueberries and swirled sweetened cream cheese with a struesel top. TO DIE FOR! Very moist! My professional chef neighbor pronounced them "heaven", and believe me, he isn't afraid to hold back when something isn't quite right with a recipe. Will definitely make again!

Pecan Snack

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2005
pretty good stuff, but I found that I couldn't tell if the nuts were close to burning because of the mixture.....it was still wet but I could smell the nuts--a sure sign that they have had enough heat. I think I might try this one again as they were very tasty, but perhaps take out a few minutes early.

Hot Cocoa Mix in a Jar

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2005
I thought this was a pretty tasty recipe. I was a little afraid that the pudding mix might not dissolve well, but it gave the mix and nice base. I used hazelnut creamer and it gave the hot cocoa a subtle kick. I would use just a bit more sugar next time--otherwise very pleased.

Sugar Cookie Icing

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2005
Great recipe!!! The icing held the bright colors well and tasted better than most recipes I've tried. I added a bit more milk as it was realllly thick as written, but it adapted well. I used 4 or 5 squeeze bottles to make applying several different colors quick and easy.

Coconut Macaroons III

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2005
I was very disappointed in this recipe! They were not very sweet at all and had an odd texture to them--not chewy at all, almost like a hard chunk of coconut.

Mexican Bride Cookies

This was my first time to make this recipe which I used as part of a my Christmas baking. I loved them!! Unfortunately only a few made it on my gift trays because I stood there and gobbled most of them up before I realized it!

This is the first thing I have ever made that I could not eat. I agree that it is similar to bbq sauce, but not nearly as good.

Best Carrot Cake Ever

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2005
Pretty good carrot cake! I only added 1 and 1/2 cups of carrots because I found that to be plenty--and I added a cup of coconut for something a little extra. The flavor and texture are really good, but keep in mind..this is a VERY heavy cake--very rich, but good!

Mrs. Sigg's Snickerdoodles

This is the BEST comfort food recipe imaginable! These cookies were so good---which says alot coming from me....I don't get to eat sweets often for health reasons, so when I do splurge, I expect it to be worth it--and were these ever! Easy to make and tasted right out of a bakery! The perfect consistency and attractive as well. Perfect for a bake sale!

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2005
WOWWWW!!! I made these and was amazed that they taste just like something you get from a high end bakery! The recipe called for the cookies to be dropped by the 1/4 cup, so I used just that to drop my cookies, however I allowed them to be heaping so I only got about 14 cookies out of the recipe. They were the biggest, richest, most delectible cookies ever!! I took a few over to my neighbor who is a professional chef and he begged me for the recipe!
